Official Motonomad III Trailer Released and It Looks Amazing!
Motonomad is back to inspire you to drop everything and travel the world!
When Motology Films first announced their motorcycle travel documentary film ‘Motonomad’ in 2014, most people thought filmmaker Adam Riemann and his riding partner Mark Portbury were a little crazy for choosing to ride KTM 500 EXCs — bikes better-suited for the motocross track than a 32-day, 7,000 kilometer journey from Austria to Egypt. But the two racing veterans, having years of experience on KTM enduro bikes, wouldn’t have it any other way.
Despite the race-tuned KTM’s limited oil capacity, short maintenance intervals and lack of a windscreen, the pair pulled off their epic unsupported journey. The 500 EXCs also proved they were still light enough to tackle tough, steep, technical terrain confidently, even after loading the lightweight bikes up with camping gear, extra fuel and camera equipment.
The amazing footage captured during Motonomad I spurred Motonomad II, which took them on a journey of 9,000 km through Kazakhstan, Russia and Mongolia. Impressive riding from a trio of skilled enduro riders combined with the surreal Central Asian steppe as a backdrop, offered the perfect ingredients for yet another stunning film. Adam Riemann is now back at it again with a third installation of the popular series — Motonomad III.
Motonomad III “Riders of the Andes” will embark on a Dakar Rally-inspired 20-day South America journey covering 7000 kilometers over challenging terrain. Adam is joined by Mark Portbury, his riding partner in the first Motonomad film, and their newest team member, Chris Hollis. Chris is a world-class rider who’s been racking up championships in the Australian Enduro, Off-Road and Endurocross Series.
“It’s a rare thing to find travel companions who can remain companions throughout ongoing situations of struggle and hardship. Trust me, riding across Bolivia and camping at 4500m in minus 15˚ temperatures is testament to that. We are always three, we get each other and can read each others feelings without words. Their skill on a bike goes without saying but their enthusiasm to make our journey into what has been a trip of a lifetime is something I’ll always cherish.” — Adam Riemann
The slickly produced trailer has our wanderlust gauge piqued. If this is any indication of the finished product it will no doubt be an impressive next chapter of the Motonomad legacy. ‘Riders of the Andes’ will be released April 2018. Watch for updates on Motology Film’s Facebook Page and Website.

Can’t wait to see the entire journey !
Yes, good catch!
This is good news! Just bought my 4th bike, a 2018 KTM 500 EXC-F with Rekluse auto clutch day before Thanksgiving. Love the bike but didn’t think it could do long distance. Already have a 2015 KTM 1190 Adventure R but it is too tall and top heavy for gnarly trails.
Sweet.
