Black Dog Drops New Rugged Accessories For CFMoto Ibex 450
The Idaho-based company brings 3 key upgrades to CFMoto's small adventurer.
Black Dog Cycle Works has announced a new line of aftermarket accessories for the CFMoto Ibex 450, including an Ultimate Skid Plate, Multi-Function Rear Rack, and Traction Footpegs—all aimed at bolstering durability and off-road capability for riders pushing the limits of this mid-sized adventure twin.
When CFMoto unveiled the Ibex 450, it checked the boxes many adventure riders have long been demanding — an accessible, twin-cylinder machine with genuine off-road intent. And the Ibex 450 delivered with its 21/18-inch wheel setup, nearly nine inches of suspension travel, and a manageable 386-pound dry weight. Add in modern electronics and a competitive price point of $6,499, and it’s no surprise the bike has quickly gained traction among riders who want a versatile machine that doesn’t compromise trail performance.

That growing enthusiasm has caught the attention of aftermarket specialists, and one of the first to respond is Black Dog Cycle Works (BDCW). Based in Sandpoint, Idaho, BDCW has built a reputation for producing rugged, rider-tested accessories designed to withstand punishing terrain. Their latest announcement brings three key upgrades to the Ibex 450, each intended to address common weak points for riders who venture far off the beaten path.
Ultimate Skid Plate

A strong skid plate is perhaps the most critical addition. Unlike lighter-duty options, the Ultimate Skid Plate from BDCW extends coverage beyond the usual engine block and clutch housing to shield the vulnerable rear exhaust pipe—a weak spot on many designs. Constructed from 3/16-inch 5052 aluminum, the plate is engineered to flex slightly under impact, reducing stress on mounting points and minimizing the risk of cracking. Airflow slots are integrated to help dissipate heat, while countersunk stainless fasteners ensure a flush fit that won’t snag on obstacles.
Multi-Function Rear Rack

For riders who need to carry extra gear or fuel, the Multi-Function Rear Rack offers a sturdy platform. Cut from ¼-inch aluminum and pre-drilled for RotoPax containers, the rack bolts directly to the frame for maximum strength. Oversized tie-down points around the perimeter make it easier to secure odd-shaped loads, while the flat surface provides a stable base for luggage systems. It’s a practical solution for riders planning extended trips where fuel range and cargo capacity are critical.
Traction Footpegs

The third piece of the puzzle is BDCW’s Traction Footpegs, which provide a larger, lower platform than the stock units. The half-inch drop offers more leg room when seated, while also improving leverage and control when standing for long stretches on technical terrain. The expanded surface area reduces fatigue by distributing pressure more evenly across the boot sole. And while the integrated bottle opener may not help you during the ride, it can be a welcome convenience at the end of a long day in the saddle.
All three products are made in the USA and are currently listed on BDCW’s website. Both the Skid Plate and Rear Rack are currently in stock, while the Traction Footpegs are available pre-order with an expected delivery date of December 2025.
