About
The adventure has just begun. Come along for the ride!
Adventure Touring is currently the fastest growing sector of the Motorcycle Industry. In spite of this rapid growth, there is still limited content out there that specializes in Adventure Riding. Most motorcycle publications cover a wide range of categories, with only the occasional Adventure Bike story squeezed in. In addition, much of the online content is poorly written and good content is hard to find.
As Adventure Bike Riders, we want high-quality Adventure Riding content and we don’t want to sift through Cruiser and Sport Bike articles to find it. We started ADV Pulse so we could bring all the best Adventure Bike content together in a single location. By making good Adventure Bike Content easier to find, you get more time to go “Riding” instead of spending hours “Googling” for information.
For some of us, Adventure Bike Riding is all about being one with nature and enjoying the scenic beauty. For others, it’s the intense physical challenge of exploring remote areas and adapting to whatever Mother Nature throws at us. The thing we all share in common is the desire to discover new places and have remarkable new experiences.
Through our website, you’ll learn more about the latest Adventure Bikes and Products to help guide your purchasing decisions. You can discover exciting new rides in faraway places or right on your own home turf. You’ll get tips on how to better prepare for your next trip and improve your riding skills.
Our goal is simple, to motivate Adventure Bike Riders to ride more and have more fun doing it.

Rob Dabney
Senior Editor
Rob Dabney started a lifelong obsession with motorcycles at the age of 15 when he purchased his first bike – a 1982 Honda MB5. Through his 20’s and 30’s he competed in off-road desert races, including the Baja 250, 500 and 1000. Eventually, his proclivity for exploration led him to dual sport and adventure riding. Rob’s never-ending quest to discover what’s around the next bend has taken him on Adventures in Mexico, North Africa, Europe, and throughout the American West. As a moto journalist, he enjoys inspiring others to seek adventure across horizons both near and far.
Jon Beck
Content Contributor
Jon Beck is fulfilling a dream of never figuring out what to be when he grows up. Racing mountain bikes, competitive surfing, and touring as a musician are somehow part of what led Jon to travel through over 40 countries so far as an adventure motorcycle photographer, journalist, and guide. From precision riding for cameras in Hollywood, to refilling a fountain pen for travel stories, Jon brings a rare blend of experience to the table. While he seems happiest when lost in a desert someplace, deadlines are met most of the time.
Jamie Elvidge
Content Contributor
Jamie has been a motorcycle journalist for more than 30 years, testing the entire range of bikes for the major print magazines and specializing in adventure-travel related stories. To date she’s written and supplied photography for articles describing what it’s like to ride in all 50 states and 43 foreign countries, receiving two Lowell Thomas Society of American Travel Writer’s Awards along the way. Her most-challenging adventure yet has been riding in the 2018 GS Trophy in Mongolia as Team AusAmerica’s embedded journalist.
Bob Whitby
Content Contributor
Bob has been riding motorcycles since age 19 and working as a journalist since he was 24 — a long time ago, let’s put it that way. He quit for the better part of a decade to raise a family, then rediscovered adventure, dual sport and enduro riding in the early 2000s. He lives in Arkansas, America’s best-kept secret when it comes to riding destinations, and travels far and wide in search of dirt roads and trails.
Steve Kamrad
Content/Media Contributor
Steve has been labeled as a “Hired Gun” by one of the largest special interest publishing groups in America. His main focus now is video content creation as a “Shreditor” (thats shooter, producer, editor all in one nice, neat, run and gun package). If he’s not out competing in a NASA Rally Race you can find him on the East Coast leading around a rowdy group of ADV riders. Some say Steve_Kamrad has the best job in the world but he’s not in it for the money. He’s a gun for hire that can’t be bought and that’s the way we like him.
Spencer Hill
Content Contributor
“The Gear Dude” has been fueling his motorcycle addiction with adventure since first swinging his leg over a bike in 2010. Whether he’s exploring his own backyard in the Pacific Northwest or crisscrossing the United States, Spencer is always in search of scenic off-road routes, epic camping locations and the best gear possible. He began writing shortly after taking up two-wheel travel to share his experiences and offer insight with his extensive backpacking, camping and overland background.
Ned Suesse
Content Contributor
Ned is a Moto Journalist, Dakar Rally Finisher and the founder of DoubleTake Mirrors. He began riding off-road motorcycles shortly after college, which eventually developed into a desire to race. His competitive racing career has taken him from Mexico to Tunisia, Italy and all over the Americas. He finally reached his dream of racing the Dakar Rally in 2012 at the age of 35. Ned crossed the Finish Line 53rd out of the 188 participants, and was the only American to go all the way that year!
Egle Gerulaytite
Content Contributor
Riding around the world extra slowly and not taking it too seriously, Egle is always on the lookout for interesting stories. Editor of the Women ADV Riders magazine, she focuses on ordinary people doing extraordinary things and hopes to bring travel inspiration to all two-wheeled maniacs out there.
