6D Reimagines Off-Road Goggles With Launch Of The New ‘MAX’
The new goggle platform breaks from tradition with several innovations.
6D Helmets has built its reputation on rethinking how riders are protected, but until now the company’s focus has stayed squarely on helmets. The new MAX Goggle marks 6D’s first step into eyewear, and instead of easing into the category with a conventional design, they’ve approached it the same way they approached helmets a decade ago — by questioning the basic assumptions of how a goggle should work.
According to the company there were 5 main issues with traditional goggles they wanted to tackle: an exposed eye port, constant facial pressure, sweat saturated foam, vision constrained by the frame, and risk of injury from impacts to the goggle.

The centerpiece of the design is the MAXVIEW lens, a shatterproof polycarbonate shield that’s 87% larger than what you’d find on a typical goggle. That’s not a small bump in visibility — it’s a significant shift in how much of the world you can see at once. The lens maintains Class 1 optical correctness across its entire surface, so the expanded view doesn’t come with distortion at the edges.
But the bigger story might be how the goggle interacts with the helmet. Instead of relying on the usual face-sealing pressure, 6D developed FLOAT Fit, a system that transfers the goggle’s structural load into the helmet’s eyeport. The idea is simple, says 6D: eliminate the constant pressure on the rider’s brow and cheeks and let the helmet carry the weight. According to the company, this reduces facial fatigue and improves airflow inside the eyeport, keeping things cooler and more comfortable over long motos or all‑day trail rides.

Bob Weber, 6D’s CEO and co‑founder, says the MAX Goggle is the result of years of development aimed at making eyewear feel like a natural extension of the helmet rather than a separate piece of gear. “MAXVIEW gives riders more of the world around them, and 6D FLOAT Fit makes wearing a goggle all day feel like wearing nothing at all. This is the goggle we always wanted to make,” he says.
Riders can choose between two versions. The MAX R is the race‑focused model, stripped down and streamlined for competition. The MAX X adds cammed ventilation levers for riders who regularly deal with heat, humidity, or slow‑speed technical terrain where airflow becomes a priority.

Highlights
- MAXVIEW lens: shatterproof polycarbonate, 87% larger surface area than standard goggles, Class 1 optically correct.
- Full UVA and UVB protection across all tint options — clear, tinted, rose and mirrored.
- 6D FLOAT Fit helmet-supported frame: zero facial pressure, enhanced airflow, active sweat evaporation.
- 3D molded dual-density face foam: dust-resistant perimeter seal for all-day comfort.
- Interchangeable nose interface: short, long, or no nose piece for a custom fit or maximum open airflow.
- 44mm silicone-backed strap grips helmet through the roughest terrain.
- Tear-off and roll-off system compatible.
- Exceeds ANSI Z87.1-2010 and EN 1938:2010 standards for impact resistance and optical performance.
- One-year limited warranty.

Both versions share the same core features: a MAXVIEW shatterproof polycarbonate lens with full UVA and UVB protection in clear, tinted, rose, or mirrored options; a FLOAT Fit helmet‑supported frame designed for zero facial pressure and improved airflow; 3D molded dual‑density face foam that forms a dust‑resistant seal; interchangeable nose pieces in short, long, or open configurations; a 44mm silicone‑backed strap; compatibility with tear‑off and roll‑off systems; and certification that exceeds ANSI Z87.1‑2010 and EN 1938:2010 standards.

Designed for motocross, off-road, enduro, and adventure riders, the goggles are offered in sizes XS/S, M/L, XL/XXL and you can choose between clear and color lenses. MSRP starts at $169 plus a one‑year limited warranty is also included.
