Alpinestars Launches New Goggle Lineup With Cutting-Edge Tech
Five different models are available to fit any budget or head.
Alpinestars is a brand that needs no introduction, having been in the motorcycle gear business for over 60 years. With the rest of the body covered head to toe, the technical riding gear brand has just released their first lineup of high-performance goggles for motocross and off-road enthusiasts.
“I’m grateful to have played such a key role in the development of the product line,” said Lawrence. “In true Alpinestars style, the end result is a fantastic product that I know the customer is going to be very pleased with.”
Five Flavors
Supertech
These are the brand’s flagship goggles for the pro racer and weekend warrior alike. The Alpinestars “Absolute Vision” polycarbonate lenses are exclusive to this model, featuring a specifically designed geometry that focuses light correctly onto the retina. This means no distorted images through the lens, and even a special warm-colored tint that minimizes uncomfortable stray flat light, enhancing eye comfort and clarity. Supertech goggles offer an expansive field of view offering exceptional peripheral vision. They also integrate seamlessly with Alpinestars’ Ultra-Wide 48 mm Roll-Off system, which is designed to keep the canisters outside of the rider’s field of view to further enhance peripheral vision.
A solid outer frame protects your face and eyes from debris and roost. It is double-injected to a soft, conforming inner frame made from exclusive A-FLEX face-forming material, allowing it to adapt to varying face shapes for an exceptional seal and fit. The frame supports Alpinestars’ Super-Lock system that keeps the lens secure, but fast and easy to swap out to another lens or Roll-Off system.
The 3D-molded, multi-layer face foam provides a comfortable fit for nearly every face shape, ensuring a perfect seal, a wide-open field of view, and effective sweat management. The Supertech moisture channel acts as a gutter to guide sweat to run across the top and down the sides of the frame, preventing drips or splashes on the lens. A forced-air ventilation system includes 100 PPI vents strategically positioned to allow air to flow under the goggles, ensuring maximum ventilation, reduced fogging and optimal airflow.
They say it’s the little things that matter in life, and that’s particularly true for the 13-degree strap wedge. This small piece between the frame and the 45mm silicone-backed strap positions it at the perfect angle across the back of the helmet, ensuring an even pull on the goggles for the best fit. They use 45mm buckles as well, instead of the traditional fold-and-sew system, to provide a sleeker, low-profile strap with easy adjustability.
Supertech goggles range in price from $109.95 for the most basic ones, to $129.95 for the Absolute Vision Lenses or $149.95 including the Roll-Off system. It’s a premium price for premium goggles. If that’s outside your budget, fear not and read on.
Vision 8
For about half the price of Supertech goggles, the Vision 8 offers much of the same design and technology. It also uses a lightweight A-FLEX urethane frame material with moisture channel technology for an amazing fit and moisture management.
The specially engineered Ram-Air ventilation system promotes airflow and moisture release, while 100 PPI reticulated vent foam also enhances ventilation. 3D molded 17mm, multi-layer face foam creates a comfortable fit for nearly every face shape. The strategically molded design ensures a perfect seal, a wide-open field of view, and offers effective sweat management.
The lens, though different than the Supertech, is still polycarbonate, hard-coated, and has anti-fog and 100% ultraviolet protection. This same lens is used throughout the Alpinestars Vision goggle range. An ultra-wide field of view that maximizes peripheral vision is also designed to integrate seamlessly with Alpinestars Wide-Vision Roll-Off system.
The Vision 8’s strategically designed, centrally mounted, outrigger system ensures a direct pull against your face for the ultimate fit. It uses the same 13-degree strap wedge as the Supertech and a 45mm wide woven strap. It sells for $64.95 to $69.95, or $89.95 with the roll-off system included.
Vision 5
The Vision 5 goggles bring much of the same package to a lower price point. They have the same A-FLEX frame, lens selection, ram-air ventilation, 17mm thick multi-stage face foam, and 45mm strap as the Vision 8, but lacks its outrigger system and 13-degree strap wedge. The Vision 5 sells for $54.95, or $69.95 with the roll-off system.
Vision 3
Despite being the budget offering, the Vision 3 still offers the most important benefits of Alpinestars’ goggles. It too has an A-FLEX urethane frame with moisture channel, ram-air ventilation, and the same polycarbonate lenses as the rest of the Vision line, as well as the 45mm strap and compatibility with the Wide-Vision roll-off system. Rather than multistage foam, the Vision 3 uses EO15 face foam with a plush chammy layer for optimal comfort, fit and moisture management, still in a 17mm thickness. Ranging from $29.95 to $39.95, the Vision 3 provides the most important aspects of Alpinestars goggles on a tighter budget.
Vision Youth
Take the Vision 3 goggles, leave them in the dryer too long so they shrink (okay, not really), and you have the Vision Youth goggles, designed exclusively for smaller heads. It uses much of the same technology as the rest of the vision line, including an A-FLEX urethane frame with wind channels molded in for ventilation, polycarbonate lenses with tear-off posts, 15mm thick EO15 face foam with a plush chammy layer, and a 40mm wide strap. Vision Youth goggles range from $29.95 to $39.95.
Alpinestars goggles are already available in North America through retailers and their website. Riders in Europe and Asia won’t have long to wait, with their launch there scheduled for the second half of September.

Why didn’t you just copy-paste the press release? All this semi-tech bs, looks you really fell for it. In fact goggles and shirts are extremely cheap products, which can be sold at extremely high prices because of the brand value and nonsense like this, which (some) people actually believe.
I love my Vision 8s. The clarity is the best I’ve ever seen. But probably like you I tend to buy cheap goggles. I stopped because I found the foam deteriorating in storage.
