CFMoto Recalls Ibex 800 Due To Throttle Issue
Affected units may experience sudden engine stalling.

CFMoto has issued a recall on its Ibex 800 S and T models due to a problem with the throttle wire. It is estimated that a total of 850 units, from model year 2023, may be affected by the recall issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
According to the safety report, the throttle wire of affected units may bend excessively and break, resulting in a loss of throttle response, limited engine RPM or engine stalling. CFMOTO determined that these potential wire breaks are due to a configuration of three overly tight rubber clasps that secure the throttle wire and make the throttle wire bend excessively during steering maneuvers.

In addition to the recall, CFMoto addressed the identified problem by correcting the defect at the production level. As such, a different configuration of rubber clasps and fasteners for the throttle wire were put into the Model Year 2024 production.
Models Affected:
MAKE | MODEL | YEAR |
CFMoto | Ibex 800 S | 2023 |
CFMoto | Ibex 800 T | 2023 |
How To Get It Fixed
CFMoto has confirmed the defect and remedy is not component related. To fix the issue, dealers will reposition the rubber claps, rerouting the throttle wire to allow for it to bend properly during steering maneuvers.
All repairs will be performed free of charge. Owners may contact CFMOTO customer service at 1-763-398-2690 and refer to recall number SAF-2024-03. Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
