GIVI Releases New Range Of ‘Canyon’ Rack-Mount Side Bags

Quick-release, waterproof saddlebags designed for off-road adventures.

As more adventure riders have embraced the advantages of soft panniers over hard cases, the range of soft saddlebag options has grown significantly over the years. Like their hard-case counterparts, many of these soft side bag luggage systems feature a top-loading design, making it convenient to organize and access gear on the go. Mounted on a frame with a locking system, they can also be quickly installed or removed — just like aluminum side cases. The key difference? Soft bags won’t dent on impact and are less likely to cause injury in the event of a fall.

Showing their growing commitment to rider-friendly soft luggage, Italian luggage maker GIVI has introduced its new 2025 ‘Canyon’ side bag lineup. These all-new bags offer a host of upgrades, including a modular design, rugged waterproof materials, heavy-duty compression straps, and a variety of sizes and mounting configurations. While many of these bags are currently available overseas, they are just starting to arrive here in the US at dealers and popular online retailers.

GIVI Canyon GRT709B Side Bags

This is the latest iteration of the GRT709 Gravel-T bags, and like the predecessor they offer a generous 35 liters of capacity on each side and utilize a heavy-duty backing plate attachment for a universal fit on GIVI, OEM or most other tubular-style pannier racks. The new mounting plates are made of fiberglass-reinforced thermoplastic that combine lightweight flexibility with rugged strength. Also new is a removable front flap made from Hypalon, which serves to protect the bag in the event of an impact and also creates a quick-access storage area for stuffing items like water bottles or extra layers. On the inside of the flap, there is also a clear pocket that is perfect for storing maps or other flat objects.

Another unique feature integrated into the top closure straps is the ‘extra-lock’ switch that allows you to secure the buckles closed so they can’t inadvertently pop open. New removable inner dry bags use high-frequency welded seams to ensure waterproofing against heavy rain. Both sides of the bags also incorporate large MOLLE panels that let you attach various accessories to expand carrying capacity or provide quick access to first aid kits or tools. (Price: $895.50 per pair)

GIVI Canyon GRT725 Side Bags

The new GRT725 side bags are all new but have a similar design to the GRT709B bags, including the removable front flap, extra-lock security buckles, removable dry bags, and MOLLE panels on either side. The GRT725 is slightly smaller than the GRT709B though with a 30-liter capacity per side and they are sold separately rather than in a pair.

Their symmetrical design allows them to be mounted on either left or right side of the bike and they connect specifically to GIVI’s PL_CAM tubular pannier racks using the MONOKEY CAM-SIDE quick-release attachment system. This gives them the ability to clip-in securely in one single motion and release instantly with the turn of the key for added convenience over the GRT709B’s backing plate design. (Price: $414.00 per side)

GIVI Canyon GRT720B Side Bags

These new Canyon bags are an update to the GRT720 saddle bags we tested previously — now with a fresh new look and several improvements to the design. Fully compatible with GIVI’s MONOKEY system, they mount securely to PL-series tubular side racks and still offer 25 liters of storage per side. The Hypalon front flap is also retained for added abrasion protection and convenient external storage.

Inside the roll-top closure, the updated waterproof dry bags now include an integrated documents pocket. As before, the outer shell is constructed from tough 1680D fabric with a PU coating for enhanced waterproofing. Key updates include new straps and buckles that have been redesigned and repositioned for improved durability in off-road environments. The side straps also provide additional versatility, allowing for attachment of extra bags like the new GRT730 auxiliary bag. GIVI has also updated the integrated hard backing plate, which appears more rugged. (Price: $621.00 per pair)

Another knock-off of Mosko Moto. I’d rather pay to support the amazing efforts of Mosko, than purchase a cheaper product from a group known for subpar offerings. Meh…
