The Colorado-Utah tour is part of MotoDiscovery’s U.S.A. Backroads Safari series and consists of high-adventure touring requiring a suitable off-road, dual-purpose motorcycle. The ride covers approximately 70% unpaved roads of varying degree of technicality.

Some of the most spectacular scenery in the Americas is found on this tour. By design the tour’s pace is moderate and challenges come at you in small doses. In addition, MotoDiscovery planned the route to incorporate fun and scenic dirt and paved roads as well as hand-picked sections of the Utah Backcountry Discovery Route (UTBDR).

Prior off road riding experience is required. This ride is well suited for dual-sport motorcycles in the 400-650 CC range. Should you ride (or would like to rent) one of the larger ADV designed bikes (BMW 1200GS, KTM 1190 Adventure, etc.) it would be necessary to have the skills and experience that are necessary to manage the performance and physical size of these machines. Rentals are available.

The support vehicle can accommodate non-riding participants or any passengers during more challenging segments of the route. We recommend attending a MotoDiscovery Rider Training Tour if you would like to gain additional off-road skill and confidence.
