AETHER Releases Next-Gen Mojave 2.0 Heavy-Duty Canvas ADV Suit
The brand’s rugged canvas kit gets major upgrades for warm weather rides.
AETHER Apparel has unveiled the second generation of their Mojave suit – an evolutionary update of the canvas ADV kit the brand first launched in 2018. Designed for riders who spend long days riding in warmer weather and need gear that can take a beating, the Mojave 2.0 jacket and pants bring a long list of refinements developed after thousands of miles of real‑world testing.
According to AETHER co-founder Palmer West, the original Mojave project set out to solve a simple but demanding problem: build an ADV suit that stays comfortable in warm weather without sacrificing durability. The solution came in the form of a heavy‑duty Halley Stevensons cotton canvas chassis, paired with extensive ventilation and lightweight D3O impact protection. Eight years later, AETHER has returned to the concept with a deeper understanding of how riders are using the gear and where it could be improved.

For 2026, the Mojave adventure suit receives across‑the‑board hardware upgrades, including more glove‑friendly zipper pulls, updated closures, and reflective zipper tape at the rear vents for improved nighttime visibility. Ventilation has also been expanded, with additional vent pairs supplementing the original system to deliver improved airflow during slow‑speed technical riding or high‑heat travel.

The 2.0 suit retains the defining elements of the first generation: the ultra‑rugged 100% cotton canvas sourced from the historic Scottish mill Halley Stevensons, a full mesh liner in the jacket, and the articulation darts at the elbows and knees that enhance mobility. The material remains a standout feature — highly abrasion‑resistant and known to develop a unique patina over time, giving each piece a personalized, weathered character.

One of the most notable updates comes from advancements in impact protection. AETHER co-founder Jonah Smith explains that the latest generation of D3O armor is up to 22% lighter, thinner, more flexible, and 350% more breathable than the previous LP1 pads. The Mojave 2.0 now uses D3O Ghost L2 limb protectors and a Viper Air L2 back protector. All pads (knees, hips, elbows, back, and shoulders) are CE level-2 certified and removable. The pant’s knee armor sits on an internal Velcro track, allowing riders to fine‑tune pad height for a better fit.

“Extensive real-world testing has informed us as to which areas of the jacket and pant could be improved upon,” West adds. “These refinements have allowed us to perfect the already heavily-developed Mojave styles and deliver what are almost certainly our most refined pieces of adventure riding gear to date.”
