The Suzuki V-Strom 1000 has always been known as a practical and versatile Adventure Bike and the new V-Strom 1000 continues building on that legacy. Buyers of the V-Strom 1000 tend to be a sensible crowd that appreciate the bike’s relatively low price point and excellent value in the market.

Most people don’t associate power and performance with the V-Strom 1000. Usually, it’s the V-Strom’s legendary reliability that comes to mind and how it makes a great commuter bike or long-range adventure tourer. For that reason, many were surprised to see the new V-Strom 1000 made our Top 10 Fastest Adventure Bikes list.

Recently, German motorcycle magazine 1000PS performed an intensive test of the new V-Strom 1000. During their testing, they pushed the bike’s limits to see what it’s capable of. Part of the test included handing the keys over to their stunt rider who proceeded to test how well the new V-Strom 1000 can do stand-up wheelies, stoppies and smokey burnouts.

When the smoked cleared, testers walked away with a new found respect for the performance capabilities of the V-Strom 1000. While there is only a 2 horsepower increase on paper over its predecessor, the new V-Strom offers more usable power than ever before. Testers also praised the bike for its excellent brakes, low-end torque and comfortable ergonomics.
