Michelin Unveils Next-Gen Anakee Adventure 2 Tire

The latest version promises enhanced grip, improved longevity and reduced noise.

Published on 01.16.2026

Michelin has announced the upcoming Anakee Adventure 2, which is set to replace the previous‑generation Anakee Adventure model. The tire is slated for global availability in January 2026 and will sit between the Anakee Road and the 50/50 Anakee Wild in the company’s lineup.

Marketed as a 80% road / 20% off-road tire, the new rubber is designed for casual dirt riders seeking road performance and longevity. According to Michelin, this next-gen version focuses on several measurable changes including new silica‑based compounds designed to improve wet‑weather grip, while internal testing indicates an increase in projected longevity—approximately 7% at the front and 21% at the rear compared to the outgoing model.

Noise reduction was another development target. Michelin states that the revised construction and tread pattern contribute to lower perceived noise levels, which may translate to less rider fatigue on longer pavement stretches. The tire carries an M+S rating and features a tread layout intended to maintain traction on unpaved surfaces, keeping it around the 80/20 to 70/30 on‑road/off‑road category commonly used for adventure‑touring tires, says Michelin.

Key changes:

  • Enhanced wet-grip, thanks to new high-performance silica-based compounds
  • Improved longevity: +7% at the front and +21% at the rear* compared with the previous generation,
  • Significant reduction in perceived noise for smoother, less tiring journeys,
  • M+S marking and optimized tread pattern for more effective traction on trails.

The construction incorporates several of Michelin’s existing technologies, including a dual‑compound layout (harder center, softer shoulders) and a reinforced radial structure with aramid materials intended to improve stability and resistance to deformation under load. The tread pattern has also been redesigned with the goal of balancing road manners with predictable behavior on loose terrain.
