Triumph Teases 2022 Tiger 1200 With Closer Look
The Hinckley-based brand drops another round of teasers ahead of bike's premiere.
In what has been a slow drip of information about the next-generation Tiger 1200, Triumph is yet again releasing another round of teasers that offer a more focused look at the upcoming bike.
Much of what the new images and video reveal had been evident before — the new Triumph 1200 has undergone a significant redesign. Even more clear now, the revamped machine appears slimmer and lighter than the outgoing model, borrowing design cues of the smaller Tiger 900 while featuring a few unique traits.
The shaft drive system is new, with a double-sided swing arm replacing the single-sided unit we’re used to on the Tiger 1200. Moreover, the tubular steel trellis has been redesigned and the radiator has been moved from its usual position behind the wheel, possibly to allow for a shorter wheelbase. A slim exhaust is now also higher, in harmony with the leaner profile of the new model.
Triumph has confirmed the next-gen Tiger 1200 is getting a T-Plane triple powerplant, which they state is “beautifully smooth and refined, with incredible response and tractability.” Although the touring capabilities of the new model will surely be center stage, the Hinckley-based manufacturer has emphasized they have put great attention to the off-road prowess of the new bike, stating it has been developed by their “off-road specialists with unstoppable road and off-road performance at the heart of its design.”
The all-new Tiger 1200 is expected to be fully unveiled soon. So for now, enjoy a little more teasing and we’ll report back when we receive more details.
