Vance & Hines Unveils Exhausts for H-D Pan America & BMW R1250GS

A new lighter exhaust system to unleash a richer rumble and more power.

Published on 10.12.2021

Known for their aftermarket performance parts, Vance & Hines have officially entered the adventure market with the introduction of exhaust systems for the new Harley Pan America and BMW R1250GS machines. And apparently the American manufacturer is just getting started, promising more performance parts for other popular ADV models in the coming months.

“We are making a significant investment in the off-road segment,” said company President Mike Kennedy. “Our R&D capabilities are already expanding in preparation for our growth in this category.”

First up is the Adventure Hi-Output 450 system, designed for Pan America owners who want to unlock more power and shed some weight from their machine. As such, the product unleashes over five extra ponies and five more ft-lbs of torque while also reducing the overall weight of the Revolution Max-powered Harley by nearly six pounds. In addition, the system gives the bike what the company calls a 50-state-emissions-compliant ‘Vance & Hines signature exhaust note.’

The Pan America’s performance exhaust is designed with V&H’s distinctive look, a massive 4.5″ stepped, high-output canister constructed of 304 grade stainless steel with a brushed finish and a ceramic-coated, CNC-machined, billet aluminum end cap. The riveted badge showcases a new laser engraved logo graphic which will be used on all Vance & Hines ADV and off-road products. For rider comfort, the mid-pipe has been designed to improve rider’s boot clearance while standing on the pegs.

The exhaust for the R1250GS and GSA is the company’s second product in this category. Dubbed the Adventure Hi-Output 500, the system features a 5-inch diameter, 304 stainless steel tube, making it the largest capacity exhaust ever made by Vance & Hines. Unlike the system for the Pan America, the company hasn’t provided specific power gain numbers for this product. Although, they do mention that it increases horsepower and torque while also delivering smooth tractable torque throughout the powerband. According to V&H the slip-on also has a lower weight than the stock exhaust.

Other features include a brushed, works-style finish, a CNC-machined, billet aluminum endcap, black heat shield, stainless mid-pipe, spring clip assembly, and Vance & Hines new adventure badging. The glass-wrapped, perforated baffle core design is also designed to deliver a rich, smooth rumble while still being 50-state emissions compliant.

Pricing and Availability

The Vance & Hines Adventure Hi-Output 450 system for the Pan America is priced at $599.99 and is currently available through retail outlets. BMW owners will have to wait a bit longer for the system for their machines though, as the Hi-Output 500, priced at $699.99, will be available later this year.
