BDR Releases North East Route & Documentary Film

Free NEBDR GPS tracks, detailed route, maps, movie premiere and more.

Published on 02.05.2020

Backcountry Discovery Routes has announced the release of its tenth route, the North East Backcountry Discovery Route (NEBDR). The NEBDR is a motorcycle expedition from upstate New York to the Canadian border in Maine, through 7 different states.

Created for dual-sport and adventure motorcyclists, this 1,400-mile route leads riders through nearly a dozen state forests on rustic dirt and gravel roads, challenging seasonal roads, and class IV roads throughout. Asphalt roads are kept to a minimum and the ones included are twisty tarmac to keep things interesting.

North East Backcountry Discovery Route Released

This is the BDR’s second East Coast route which covers more miles, reaches higher elevations, and contains a lot more technical tracks than any other BDR to date which makes the NEBDR one of the most diverse routes in the BDR series.

Every state traveled through delivers its own unique adventure riding experience. Expect scenic views, endless forest roads under a canopy of trees, rocky expert-only sections, and the highest elevations in the Northeast. Go-arounds for the “expert only” sections are provided, so the entire route can be enjoyed by riders of all skill levels.

NEBDR Route Tracks, Maps & Documentary

The North East Backcountry Discovery Route release includes GPS tracks and route travel information which can be accessed on the BDR website free now. A waterproof map from Butler Motorcycle Maps is currently available for purchase and the expedition documentary film DVD  is available for pre-order shipping on March 15th. The film features eight-time AMA National Enduro Champion Mike Lafferty of KTM, and international ADV celebrity and BMW International GS Trophy team member, Jocelin Snow, along with BDR board members.
