New Adventure Riding Film Launching – Beyond Siberia
An epic tour of 105 days, 16 countries and 16k miles from London to Magadan.
Imagine a guided Adventure Riding Tour from London to Magadan (Eastern Russia) covering some 16,500 miles (28,500 km), 16 countries and 11 different time zones. An epic tour that follows in the footsteps of Long Way Round’s Ewan and Charley on the Road of Bones. A tour like this actually exists and is offered through Compass Expeditions. Participants ride for 105 days across a quarter of the earth’s surface with all of their meals, support and accommodations taken care of.
How much does a tour like this cost? $30,990 USD if you bring your own bike or $46,215 USD if you want to rent a BMW R1200GS for the trip. While this would most definitely be an extraordinary, life changing experience, and much safer than doing it unsupported, for most of us the price tag is a little steep.
Well if you are curious what it would be like, the good news is an action-packed documentary film has been produced covering the daily trials of 15 riders on the trip. “Beyond Siberia – Riding the Road of Bones” vividly captures the hardships and dangers of the ride, along with the spectacular scenery of the countries in the regions they travel through. The film series will be released at MIPTV 2015 event in Cannes this April and the DVD is expected to be available at the end of April for purchase through Compass Expeditions.
Compass Expeditions is already well under way with a second TV series. The new two-part series will also cover a tour of one of the world’s most challenging Adventure Motorcycle routes. Starting in Cairo and riding the full length of Africa arriving in Cape Town three months later.

It’s Charley, not Charlie. Proof your work.
Corrected. Thanks hankwentthataway!
What an amazing experience this must be!
What a great accomplishment to be picked up by MIPTV. Hope we see more and more documentaries about adventure riding go into mainstream and inspire many others to start their own adventure. Can’t wait for the DVD to come out!
This is a great show and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Well paced and great production values. Charley’s narration was excellent – all that practice is paying off!
(I bought the double DVD at the Sydney Motorcycle Show)
