Heart of Colorado – Aug. 1-8, 2020

A USA motorcycle safari in the heart of Colorado.

Published on 12.28.2019

Our friends at MotoDiscovery Tours have developed a special ‘Heart of Colorado’ Dual Sport Adventure. The route covers the best backcountry dirt roads, as well as the finest twisty asphalt Colorado has to offer. This route includes select segments of the official BDR route, combined with legs of the popular Continental Divide Ride to create a unique journey with balance and mile after mile of riding pleasures. The ride presents a variety of options, allowing the rider to choose their challenge level on most days. Each night riders visit historic Colorado towns and can soak their bones in natural hot springs at several locations during the 8-day, 1,000 mile journey.

This ride is well suited for dual-sport motorcycles in the 400-800cc range and prior off-pavement riding experience is required. Big Bike riders are welcome though, should you ride (or would like to rent) one of the larger ADV designed bikes (such as the Honda Africa Twin CRF1000L) it would be necessary to have the skills and experience to manage the performance and physical size of these machines. We recommend attending a MotoDiscovery Rider Training Tour if you would like to gain additional off-road skill and confidence

Highlights

Small group: Fewer riders facilitate a more intimate experience and better service.

Convenience: Designed with a seamless one-week itinerary that gets you right into the heart of the best riding (Adventure ready rental motorcycles designed to take on the Rockies available).

The route: Some of the most spectacular scenery in the Americas is found on this tour. By design the pace is moderate and challenges come at you in small doses. Itinerary not only incorporates sections of the Continental Divide but the Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route (COBDR) also.

Comfort: Getting dirty doesn’t mean roughing it. When the side stand comes down at the end of the day, MotoDiscovery looks for the best possible accommodations and dining.

Support: MotoDiscovery has your back when riding the backcountry. A 4X4 chase vehicle to handle your luggage, mechanical issues and deal with emergencies.
