KTM Announces Specs And Availability Of New 690 Rally Model

A new long‑range, rally‑focused evolution of the 690 Enduro R.

Published on 09.08.2026

KTM is expanding its LC4 lineup with the introduction of the 2027 KTM 690 Rally, a production model that brings rally‑focused design back to the platform and fills the gap once occupied by the 640 Adventure. Built on the 690 Enduro R foundation, the new Rally variant adds the range, cockpit layout, and chassis updates needed for long‑distance off‑road travel.

Power comes from KTM’s 692.7cc single‑cylinder LC4 engine, producing a claimed 78 horsepower and 53.8 ft‑lbs of torque, paired with a 6‑speed transmission. Wheel sizes remain the familiar 21-inch front and 18-inch rear, supported by a 48 mm WP XPLOR USD fork with 10.43 in of travel and a WP XPLOR rear shock with Pro‑Lever linkage offering 9.8 in of travel. The fork features separate compression and rebound damping adjustability, while the rear shock offers full adjustability, including rebound, high‑ and low‑speed compression, and preload. Brembo brakes continue to handle stopping duties, consistent with the setup used on the 690 Enduro R.

Fuel capacity is one of the most significant changes. Dual front‑mounted tanks work together with the rear tank to bring total volume to 5.28 gallons (20 liters). A dedicated fuel‑management system allows riders to switch between front and rear tanks using a handlebar‑mounted switch cube, with the reserve indicator corresponding to the selected tank. This setup provides more control over weight distribution, letting you adjust to match the load or terrain.

The Rally also incorporates integrated mounting points engineered specifically for the rally hardware, including the front tanks and tower assembly, providing factory‑level structural support and durability.

The cockpit is built around a new rally tower with an integrated windscreen and compact 4.2‑inch TFT display. Lighting is full LED, derived from the KTM 450 Rally Replica, offering improved visibility in low‑light and poor weather conditions. Wide footpegs help prevent mud buildup and maintain consistent grip, and optional rubber inserts can be fitted for increased comfort during road sections.

The new model also offers multiple ride modes, including Street, Off‑road, and an optional Rally Mode. In Rally Mode, riders can adjust traction control and throttle response for more precise terrain adaptation. Advanced rider aids include cornering ABS and cornering MTC, both supported by a 6D sensor that adapts braking and traction control inputs while leaned over. A feature called Dynamic Slip Adjust, available in Rally Mode, can automatically increase rear‑wheel slip when additional traction is needed before returning to the rider’s preset level.

The chassis itself carries over the latest stiffness updates introduced on the current 690 Enduro R, improving rider feedback and control. The LC4 platform’s long service intervals — 15,000 km (9,320 miles) for oil changes and 30,000 km (18,641 miles) for valve‑clearance checks also reduce maintenance demands.

Seat height is listed at 36.8 inches (935 mm), and KTM claims a dry weight of 356 lbs (161.5 kg) without fuel, which is 8 pounds less than the KTM 390 Adventure R. The overall package is designed to offer more range, more wind protection, and a cockpit layout suited for navigating extended off‑road routes, while retaining the lighter feel and single‑cylinder character of the LC4 platform.

Production of the 2027 KTM 690 Rally begins in September, with availability at authorized KTM dealers starting October 2026. Pricing is yet to be announced. More information is available at KTM.com.
