2024 Kawasaki KLX300 Gets A Fresh New Look

The small-bore Kawi returns with a range of bodywork and styling changes.

Published on 06.07.2023

Since its initial release in 2021, Kawasaki’s KLX300 has been a popular option for riders looking for a dual sport that is approachable, easy to ride, and low maintenance. For the new year, the bike receives a refresh with updates to the bodywork, styling and lighting. The freshly announced changes aren’t major, yet they will still be appreciated by fans of the small-bore model.

The new 2024 KLX300 (right) receives bodywork and style changes all throughout.

First up, the KLX300 benefits from new KX-style shrouds that are slightly longer but an inch narrower than before. Further emulating a KX motocross bike, the new top rear fender design is now longer which creates a more elongated silhouette while a more compact taillight is now positioned farther forward on the fender to prevent damage.

Kawasaki also gives a facelift to the rear side panels which are now two-tone and, like the shrouds, slimmer. According to the Japanese manufacturer, the changes give the 2024 KLX300 “a sharp design that flawlessly flows from the front fender to the tail.”

With this approach in mind, the bike also receives a new front fender design, a narrower front cowl, and a new compact LED headlight. The package is completed with a two-tone seat cover that helps emphasize the distinct lines created by the bodywork.

As before, the engine is a water-cooled single, featuring dual overhead cams with four valves and a 34mm throttle body EFI system mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Suspension travel is 10.0 inches in the front and 9.1 inches in the rear, which translates to a 35.2-inch seat height. Stopping power is provided by a 250mm front disc with a 2-piston Nissin caliper, along with a 240mm disc and single-piston caliper in the rear.

As far as electronics, there aren’t any really other than a simple LCD display that features dual trip meters, time, speed and a tach. Dash lights provide warnings for the engine, fuel level, coolant temp, high beam, neutral, and turn indicators. No ABS, no traction control, no rider modes, just you and your wrist to control the bike.

Availability and Pricing

The 2024 Kawasaki KLX300 is available at dealers with an MSRP of $6,199. The model is offered in Lime Green, Battle Gray and Cypher Camo colors and can be personalized with numerous Kawasaki Genuine Accessories, including a hand guard set, tapered handlebar, handlebar pad, and rear carrier.

No ABS? That leaves us with only the crf300l here in Europe. Strange that Kawa is missing that market!

Now dont go spending thousand ‘s of dollar ‘s on this and that .I shit you not take the snorkle of ,and then for 200$ buy a K/N air filter put it in and go for a ride , and whatch how such a cheap hop up can change the whole temperament of the little green meanie go nuts .You will definitely need to work on your suspension to cope with the rate of knots it is capable of doing with this simple cheap 200$ game changer. Try it man and you will see just what i am on about. Tell your friends .THANK YOU% K/N magic%
