Get a Sneak Peek Of The All-New Texas BDR-X Coming Soon
An immersive riding experience in the heart of Texas’ ‘Gift to the Nation.’
Backcountry Discovery Routes is getting ready to release the all-new Big Bend BDR-X in West Texas as part of their series of shorter, loop-style routes for adventure riders. This is the BDR’s sixth installment in the BDR-X series.
If you haven’t heard about this newer format by the non-profit organization, BDR-Xs are typically 300-600 miles in length, take only a few days to complete, and conveniently take riders back to wherever they started the route. These make them a great option for those that don’t have the time to do a full BDR.
In preparation for its debut, BDR has dropped a video trailer to offer a sneak peek of the upcoming expedition film that will be released along with the full route. Offering a unique off-pavement adventure, the Big Bend BDR-X features a 618-mile loop through the rugged terrain of Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, and surrounding areas.
This route offers a deep dive into one of America’s most remote regions, filled with incredible desert landscapes, untamed natural beauty, hidden historical sites, vibrant artistic communities, and even an optional foot crossing into Mexico at the Rio Grande.
According to the BDR, the Big Bend BDR-X is an immersive riding experience in the heart of Texas’ ‘Gift to the Nation,’ making it a must-visit destination for riders seeking an authentic and unforgettable desert adventure. The new route will be open for riders immediately following its release and is best experienced in the fall (October to November) or spring (March to April).
Big Bend BDR-X Route Release
The full route and film will be unveiled during a live YouTube broadcast on Saturday, October 26th, streamed from Touratech’s TouraTexas Rally at 8:00 pm EST. The event will feature a 40-minute documentary, the release of GPS tracks, a waterproof route map, and comprehensive online travel resources. Riders can also look forward to live appearances from the BDR expedition team, offering an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the route’s development and their inaugural ride.
