Almost two years after teaming up with e-motorcycle manufacturer Zero, Backcountry Discovery Routes (BDR) has announced that Harley-Davidson has joined their ranks as the newest OEM sponsor. The multi-year partnership will focus on showcasing Harley-Davidson’s support of BDR’s mission to preserve off-road riding opportunities while also promoting the capabilities of the brand’s Pan America adventure motorcycle for rugged exploration.

Throughout the partnership, the Pan America will be integrated into the landscape of upcoming BDR films. With a shared commitment to creating riding opportunities that foster positive economic impact in rural communities, guest riders from Harley-Davidson will join the BDR team on the upcoming Big Bend, Texas BDR-X (to be released in 2024) and on two additional BDR routes to be released in 2025.

The TouraTexas Rally will also mark the public release of the Big Bend BDR-X project and documentary film, streamed live on YouTube from the rally.

At a past H-D stockholders meeting I suggested they put a kiosk in every H-D dealership where riders can download interesting street routes, ADV routes/trails, and even dirt bike/ATV riding areas. It would be inclusive and get non H-D riders into the dealership, even if there ride was a KTM EXC.

Feet in the door could bring future sales of there product including the Pan America. Or whatever else they may have in the future (electric dirt bike?). l am a retired H-D senior engineering project lead and an avid dirt rider/racer/instructor.
