KTM Unveils Limited-Edition 2023 450 Rally Replica

This exclusive model is a pure racing thoroughbred ready for battle in the sands.

Published on 06.22.2022

KTM has just unveiled their new 2023 450 Rally Replica, the customer version of its factory rally machine. The replica model is purpose-built and derived on feedback from KTM’s Dakar winners, featuring components that provide the performance level directly requested by these rally raid champions. This is a limited-edition motorcycle, extreme-engineered to abuse stopwatches and win multi-stage cross country rallies.

2023 KTM 450 Rally Replica
KTM’s 450 Rally Replica is fitted with WP XACT PRO 48mm closed-cartridge forks using sophisticated Cone Valve technology. The transmission has the same gear ratios as the Dakar Rally winning bikes of the Factory Racing team.

The 450cc SOHC fuel-injected engine received an increase in power for model year 2019, which carries over to the 2023 model as well. KTM has not provided horsepower numbers after the power boost but for reference, the 2016 450cc rally bike we tested pumped out a claimed 68 hp.

This is a machine that is ready to race straight out of the crate. The bike’s superiority comes from a series of state-of-the-art components that accentuate its racing spirit. Chief among those is the advanced WP XACT PRO suspension that provides the ideal balance between acute feel, traction and consistent performance. Weight is minimal and the surge from the 450cc single-cylinder engine is refined by the compact Akrapovič exhaust system that also assists the centralization of mass.

The aluminum swingarm is ultra-light and has precisely-tuned behavior to support the high-performance of the suspension.

The engine makes use of cutting-edge Keihin fuel management and the ECU maps have been adapted and optimized for ideal power delivery. A Pankl transmission is of the same spec as the one used by Red Bull KTM Factory Racing, and the use of a compact chrome-moly steel frame also comes straight from the race team’s spec.

Ergonomics are tailored for competition, giving the rider the closest connection possible to both the bike and terrain while putting ability and stability at the forefront. This is considered the most ready-to-race machine currently on the market. Every aspect of the 2023 KTM 450 RALLY REPLICA has been through the rally and racing wringer.
