Learn Rally Raid Skills and Help USA Team Make History at Dakar 2023

Train to navigate by roadbook like your Dakar heroes.

If you ever wondered what it takes to navigate by roadbook just like racers in the Dakar rally, here is your chance to learn from the experts. Whether you are an aspiring racer or a casual enthusiast, the Baja Rally School is designed to train and prepare you for rally racing anywhere in the world.

But you will not only be learning how to master rally racing. With your participation, you will be supporting ‘American Rally Originals’ (ARO); five U.S. riders looking to make history at Dakar 2023 by becoming the first Americans in its 45-year history to finish in the grueling ‘Malle Moto’ (aka Original by Motul) class. To help them in that effort, a portion of your entry fee will go directly to benefit ARO’s fundraising campaign.

ARO Race Team Members include:

Baja Rally School and American Rally Originals Dakar 2023

Kyle McCoy: Finished Dakar (top 10 rookies) in 2020; competitive rally racer at Africa Eco Race, Sonora Rally, Baja Rally. Global competitive ultra-runner (raced in Antarctica, China, Namibia, Morocco and Chile).

Paul Neff: ISDE Gold and Silver Medalist and AA Enduro rider, 2020 Sonora Rally class winner, top trials competitor and co-coach with Jimmy Lewis (Paul owns Cispus Cycles Training in Washington state).

David Pearson: Vegas to Reno Ironman class winner; Ironman Baja 1000 Finisher, Sonora and Baja Rally podium finishes; former owner of KTM and Harley-Davidson Dealerships.

Jim Pearson: AA Enduro rider, Vegas to Reno 500 Ironman, Baja 1000 Ironman, Sonora and Baja Rally podium finishes and the team’s most knowledgeable mechanic.

Morrison Hart: Previous US Sailing Team and current rally competitor with numerous podium and top 10 finishes at the Sonora and Baja Rally’s. He is the team’s top navigation and logistics expert.

Learn to navigate by roadbook at the Dakar Baja Rally School

What’s Included

The Baja Rally School event will be held from May 20th to the 22nd, 2022 in San Quintin, Baja California, Mexico and includes 3-days of roadbook rally training with stages for riders of all levels, Malle moto simulations, RALLY COMP tracking and scoring, plus a hosted dinner. Cost for the training is $950 USD, which includes a $500 donation to ARO.

Paper roadbooks for 3 days of rally stages (.pdf files for electronic roadbook readers).
Classroom Training session.
Use of RALLY COMP device, live tracking, and 2-way text messaging.
On-course safety and assistance personnel and sweepers.
Hosted buffet dinner Saturday night.
Secured bivouac camping inside hotel parking lot (no RV hookups).

What’s Not Included

Hotel lodging and most meals (other than Saturday Dinner).
Transportation & Fuel.
Vehicle Insurance.
