Rebel X Launches Side Fairing Kit For The KTM 790/890 Adventure

A quick & easy way to improve the look and aerodynamics of your KTM.

Published on 11.29.2022

After having brought to market a fairing kit for the KTM 390 Adventure last year, Rebel X Sports has now released a similar side panel kit for the bigger siblings. The new panels fit the KTM 790/890 Adventure R, S and Rally (2019-2022) and were designed for owners looking to improve the bike aesthetics and aerodynamics.

This easy upgrade is fully Plug n’ Play and can be done in around 4 minutes by simply swapping side panels. According to Rebel X, the kit was developed for two years through long high speed test sessions to ensure improvements in wind protection for the rider. In addition, the two open vents optimize air flow of the front end, increasing the bike’s stability at high speeds.

The new fairing also gives the older KTM 790 and 890 a look more similar to the Adventure R 2023 model, offering owners a fresh aesthetic feel to their machine. The side panels are currently available in black and white and Rebel X says they are developing several add-on sticker kit designs to go along with them in the future.

Main Features

  • Plug ‘n’ Play
  • Improved aerodynamics
  • 2023 KTM Adventure R feel design
  • Testing by Dakar riders
  • Fit KTM 790/890 Adventure (2019-2022)

Definitely improves the look. I am wondering if the new body work of the 2023 can be retro fitted to the earlier models. If not then this option is good alternative to help clean up the lines. I rarely spend much on cosmetic upgrades but this could be one.

Same thoughts. I’d rather buy the full front side fairings off the 2023 model, but if I can’t do that then I’ll go with these. The front end look of the old models is essentially my only gripe with the bike.

That’s a lot of coin for two pieces of plastic. I guess they have lots of development costs to amortize.
