Global Map of ADV Off-Road Motorcycle Training Centers

Improving your off-road skills can open up a new world of adventure.

Published on 04.01.2014

Riding a fully loaded Adventure Motorcycle off-road takes a great deal of skill and technique. However, many people buy their first Adventure Bike with little to no previous off-road riding experience. These riders quickly learn how hard it is to control a big Adventure Bike in the dirt. The fear of scratching your bike or hurting yourself can create a lot of anxiety and limit where you ride.

To get the most out of your investment, you need to learn proper off-road riding techniques that will allow you to handle any type of terrain you may encounter on an expedition. When you have confidence off-road, you are free to explore all the amazing landscapes of the Earth without fear or hesitation.

You can try to learn on your own with trial and error, but this approach often leads to picking up bad habits, injuries and expensive damage to your bike. A safer way to gain off-road riding skills is to seek out professional assistance.

If you live a long way from a training center, there are still resources out there that can help guide your learning. Check out Ned Suesse’s videos (http://www.dualsportriding.com/) or the guide that BesRest Products put together (http://www.bestrestproducts.com/c-169-how-to-ride-off-road.aspx). These will give you practical exercises to build your skills. I’m 800+miles from the nearest training center on the map. 🙂
