New Lockable Touratech Toolbox for the BMW R1200GS

An ideal solution for secure and convenient storage of small items on your GS.

Published on 05.21.2015

Looking for a way to get additional storage space on your BMW R1200GS? The new Touratech Toolbox is an ideal solution for safe storage of small items on your GS that fits perfectly in the void between the rear wheel and pannier racks. The rugged 4.2 liter (Dimensions: 13″ x 7.5″ x 3.5″) aluminum and plastic Touratech Toolbox can be mounted on either side of the bike (opposite the exhaust side) and works with or without panniers mounted.

It’s convenient for when you are riding with soft luggage or short trips when you ride without panniers. The Touratech Toolbox gives you lockable storage and quick access to items like house keys, tools, electronics, a wallet or first aid kit. The Touratech Toolbox’s storage space is protected against road grime and the lid can be completely removed for even easier loading. A safety mechanism prevents loss of the lid as well.

“The creativity and design of the Toolbox is not only perfect for tools, a med-kit or other small items, but it looks really great with or without the panniers on the bike and it locks too. It’s a home run!”
– Iain Glynn, Chief Riding Officer, Touratech-USA

The Touratech Toolbox was engineered specifically for the factory pannier racks on the R1200GS Adventure and mounts directly onto them. The box is easy to access, whether the panniers are on the bike or not, and the large opening makes loading and unloading a snap.

With a rugged and attractive design, along with the creative utilization of space, the new Touratech Toolbox may be the next must have farkle for 2004-2015 BMW R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure owners.

Note this requires removal of the rear mud guard. Pop rivets in ABS plastic don’t hold up while riding bumpy terrain loaded with tools.

I’m interested in this new storage solution but have heard they can’t be used when riding off-road?
