Riding Solo: New Moto Adventure Series by Noren Films Coming
A new video series about riding alone, exploring the USA’s scenic backcountry.
A new motorcycle travel documentary is on the way, which captures a 6,000-mile, 30-day solo motorcycle journey exploring the incredible scenic beauty of the USA backcountry. The 25-part series is filmed and produced by acclaimed adventure motorcycle filmmaker Sterling Noren of Noren Films, who has been crafting motorcycle travel documentaries since 1998.
Those who are familiar with Sterling know that for the past 10 years, he’s been producing the Backcountry Discovery Routes series of videos. The summer of 2020, was unique though in the sense that there was no BDR project because of COVID-19. Yet this gave Noren an opportunity to do something he’d been wanting to do for a very long time – go for a long solo ride on some of the great motorcycle roads (paved and dirt) of the USA, camping, cooking and just relaxing in scenic and remote destinations along the way.
“I didn’t have an itinerary. There was no schedule. I was free to wake up and ride as far as I wanted, or as little as I wanted every day,” says Sterling. His goal for the trip was to camp every night, cooking both dinner and breakfast at camp. “Spending time in nature by yourself gives your soul a chance to quiet down. It renews the spirit. So you can go back to everyday life refreshed and contribute in a better way.”
The purpose of the new series called “Riding Solo” is to show how easy it is to embark on a solo motorcycle journey across the USA’s backcountry. From what we can see in the trailer, the breathtaking scenery he captures traveling through Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, and New Mexico, is sure to encourage other adventure riders to make the time to get out and take their own trips.
Beyond the inspiring footage exploring some of America’s remote destinations and best adventure motorcycle routes, the new series also includes useful tips on everything from moto camping, cooking and adventure bike set up to filming on the road and droning. We’d expect aspiring adventure riders will gather a great deal of useful information about being self-sufficient on a solo motorcycle journey as well.
The first of 25 episodes drops on September 23rd, 2020 and you can watch “Riding Solo” for free on Sterling Noren’s YouTube channel.

It’s started. At the very least it will be entertaining. I’m watching with hopes of picking up some good advice. I’ve enjoyed some of his other videos and this one starts out the same.
