KTM Debuts 2027 450 Rally Replica & Ultra-Exclusive Benavides Edition

The production version of KTM's Dakar-winning bike gets a special variant.

Published on 04.30.2026

KTM is rolling its Dakar‑winning engineering back into the hands of private riders with the announcement of the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica, a limited‑production machine set to arrive in July 2026. Built as a near‑direct reflection of the factory race bike, the new model continues KTM’s approach of offering a competition‑ready platform to riders who want to enter rally events or experience the same hardware that has dominated the discipline in recent years.

The Rally Replica has served as KTM’s most focused rally platform for half a decade, and the 2027 edition follows the same philosophy: take the components, settings, and development work from the factory program and translate them into a production machine with minimal deviation. Since 2020, four different riders have taken versions of this bike to Dakar victories, including the most recent win by Luciano Benavides in 2026. KTM is marking that achievement with an even more exclusive variant—the KTM 450 Rally Replica Luciano Benavides Factory Edition—limited to just eight units worldwide and featuring a host of extra upgrades.

Production numbers for the standard Rally Replica remain small, with just over 100 bikes planned. At its core is KTM’s 450 cc fuel‑injected SOHC engine paired with a six‑speed gearbox and rally‑specific gearing. A Brembo hydraulic clutch and titanium Akrapovič exhaust system round out the powertrain, the latter chosen for its combination of weight savings and durability.

The ultra-exclusive Luciano Benavides edition will be limited to just 8 units worldwide.

The chassis continues to use KTM’s hydro‑formed, laser‑cut, and hand‑welded steel frame, designed to balance torsional rigidity with enough flex to maintain rider feedback at high speeds. WP Pro components handle suspension duties, offering full adjustability and the same tuning range used in competition. Cooling is managed by dual radiators for redundancy and improved heat distribution, while CNC‑machined triple clamps with a 23 mm offset aim to provide stiffness without adding weight.

Ergonomics and cockpit layout follow rally convention. The bike carries 34.5 liters of fuel across a three‑tank system to distribute weight and extend range. A carbon‑fiber navigation tower supports digital roadbook equipment and LED lighting, and the bodywork is shaped to offer wind protection without restricting movement during long stages. Other details include a tapered aluminum handlebar with rally‑spec foam grips, wide footpegs, and Brembo braking hardware.

For 2027, the Rally Replica returns to KTM’s traditional orange livery after several years of factory‑team color variations. The Luciano Benavides Factory Edition, however, adopts full Red Bull KTM graphics to mirror the Dakar‑winning machine. Additional upgrades include carbon components such as brake disc guards and tank pads, a Selle Dalla Valle seat, and Michelin Rally tires mounted with mousse inserts. Each bike also receives a numbered “LE” emblem on the frame.

Owners of the Factory Edition will also receive a unique experience at the 2026 KTM Adventure Rally in Italy, where the Red Bull KTM Rally Factory Team will be present. The limited‑edition bikes will be handed over by Luciano Benavides himself, along with a signed race jersey and support from the factory crew during the event’s riding days.

KTM positions the 2027 450 Rally Replica as a direct link between its Dakar program and privateers, offering a machine built with the same intent and much of the same hardware as the bikes competing in RallyGP. With production capped at just over 100 units — and only eight for the Factory Edition — availability will be limited, but the platform remains one of the closest ways for riders to experience a modern rally bike without entering a factory tent.

KTM has confirmed pricing in the UK, where the 2027 KTM 450 Rally Replica will retail for £33,148.80, while the Luciano Benavides Factory Edition comes in at £42,544.80. As of now, the orange brand has not released U.S. pricing or availability details.
