Sena Launches New ‘Spider X’ Ultra-Slim, Mesh‑Only Intercom
High-performance connectivity in a minimalist design.
Sena has expanded its Mesh‑only lineup with the launch of the Spider X Slim, a low‑profile communication system built for riders who want full Mesh Intercom performance in an ultra-compact, streamlined design. The new unit runs on Mesh Intercom 3.0, supporting both Open Mesh and Group Mesh, giving it the same communication backbone used across Sena’s top‑tier systems.
The standout feature is its ultra‑thin main module, designed to sit close to the helmet shell to reduce bulk and minimize wind noise at speed. To keep the profile slim, Sena separates the battery into its own compact pack that mounts independently inside or outside the helmet. The main module weighs just 23.2 grams, making it one of the lightest communicators in Sena’s current range.

Despite the compact design, the Spider X Slim carries over the same chipset used in Sena’s higher‑end models. It includes Bluetooth 5.3, enhanced voice commands, and compatibility with the Wave Intercom app that uses a cellular network-based protocol to eliminate distance and device limitations. Audio is delivered through 40mm second‑generation HD speakers, tuned with Bose’s WaveForm engine and SoundDesign processing to maintain clarity at highway speeds. Sena also integrates AI‑based noise filtering and a digital signal processor, both working to reduce ambient noise and improve voice clarity.

The unit supports FM radio and features Intelligent Power Management, which automatically turns the device on or off based on helmet movement to conserve battery life. Riders can also perform OTA firmware updates through the Sena Motorcycles App, which handles setup and configuration.
The Spider X Slim is rated IPX7 waterproof, offering protection for heavy rain and wet‑weather riding. Sena backs the device with a limited lifetime warranty, a first for the Spider series. Four interchangeable faceplates — Piano Black, Dark Chrome, Silver Stone, and Alpine White — are included for riders who want to customize the look.

Range is listed at 1.6 km (1 mile) in open terrain, with talk time rated at 11 hours. Charging is handled via USB‑C, with a full charge taking about two hours. The unit ships with both an omni‑directional wired mic and a wired boom mic, along with standard mounting hardware.
The Sena Spider X Slim is available now, priced at $299 for the single pack and $569 for the dual pack.
