New Husqvarna 701 Enduro ‘LR’ Hits Dealer Floors Overseas

Added fuel capacity bumps the Husky 701 range to more than 300 miles!

Published on 03.10.2020

Husqvarna has announced the international release of their all-new 701 Enduro model for riders seeking a bike that can go the distance — The 701 Enduro LR. The LR stands for “long range,” and with a claimed ability to cover 500 kilometers (310 miles) between fill ups, the 701 LR can scratch that itch. Bred from the 701 Enduro, the brand new LR also receives key updates and revisions that the standard version gets for 2020.

Keep the Ride Going

The LR model adds a separate 12-liter (3.2 gallon) fuel tank to the bike, located where you’d find a traditional fuel tank, in front of the seat. (The 701s, like KTM 690s, carry their fuel in the combination tank/subframe that supports the seat.) Dual, switchable fuel pumps allow the rider to pull gas from either tank. Combined with the rear tank’s 13 liters (3.4 gallons), the total capacity of 25 liters (6.7 gallons) should be good for just about anywhere you’d want to ride.

An additional fully-integrated 12 liter front tank increases the total fuel capacity to 25 liters (6.6 gallons).

The 701 lineup, including the LR, gets updated electronic aids that Husqvarna says will improve both safety and performance. There are new switchable ride modes, a Bosch cornering ABS system that takes lean angle into account, a new “easy” shift feature that shortens gear changes and supposedly improves rear wheel traction, lean-sensitive traction control, and new slimmer bodywork for improved ergonomics. The engine is still a 74-horsepower, throttle-by-wire, 692cc powerhouse.

Extremely well-balanced and delivering impressive agility and handling, the 701 Enduro LR comes fitted with fully adjustable 48mm WP XPLOR upside-down forks and a WP XPLOR rear shock, offering 250mm of wheel travel and great all-terrain capabilities.

Technical Highlights

  • Bosch cornering ABS – lean angle specific braking technology
  • Easy Shift function – seamless up- and down shifting for a smoother ride
  • Lean-angle sensitive Motorcycle Traction Control – perfect rear wheel traction
  • Chromium-molybdenum steel trellis frame – amazing agility and stability
  • Aluminium swingarm – extremely low weight for maximum traction and stability
  • Polyamide rear subframe with integrated fuel tank – high-tech, single-piece construction
  • Dedicated graphics

Availability and Price

The brand new bike is hitting dealer floors from March onwards with an MSRP of £10,699 in the UK. Unfortunately for those of us on this side of the ocean, Husqvarna is currently only releasing the LR in overseas markets including Europe, South Africa and Australia. We’ll share details about its release in North America if and when it becomes available.

I had hoped for a slightly more manageable seat height. The LR is in fact even higher than the standard bike. I am very well used to handling tall bikes (currently on a 790 @R with stock suspension), but there is a limit of what I can handle without constantly tipping over, as soon as the ground is not flat. Since this bike is aimed at a more long distances than extreme terrain, a slighty LOWER seat height than the standard bike would have been nice.

You can lower it using a link. I did a write up on my lowering experience – worked for some cases from the get go, but needed to modify it for racing – more detail at http://www.husky701.com/koubalink-lowered-husqvarna-701-experience/

Sport Gala’s and fairs are source of pure entertainment. But who held these fairs they also need to encourage the player. Therefor they used to gave prizes. Clinch Star provide Sport related products. which are used to slove these problems.
