Dakar Rally 2018 Edition – Jan. 6-20, 2018
An enduring challenge through the majestic deserts of South America.

The Dakar Rally 2017 continues the strong tradition of adventure best described by a motto coined by its founder: “A challenge for those who go. A dream for those who stay behind.” Over the course of almost thirty years, it has generated innumerable sporting and human stories. In Paraguay, Argentina and Bolivia, the drivers and the teams of the Dakar Rally 2017 will discover (or rediscover) the finesse, as well as the harshness of off-road races in the purest sense.
For its the 10th edition on the South American continent, the Dakar will reacquaint itself with the Pacific Ocean and especially the Peruvian dunes, which the riders and drivers will tackle after having enjoyed several days in the capital, Lima. The race will continue in Bolivia, where the rest day will take place in a supercharged atmosphere in La Paz. In terms of enthusiasm and good naturedness, the Argentinean aficionados are on a level playing field with their neighbours, in particular in Córdoba, which will host the finish of the Dakar for the first time.
The backbone of the Dakar Rally 2017 alternates difficulty and terrain. Between the contrast in relief, temperatures and surfaces, the drivers and their teams will face a real test of their adaptability and will have to re-assess their performance on a daily basis. What’s more, 2017 is “the toughest edition in the history of South American rally-raiding” according to Sporting director Marc Coma. Over nearly 9000 kms of roads, tracks and dunes, the adventure will also be made complex with a stay at high-altitude for one week.
