It is that time of year when KTM announces its 450 Rally Replica model — the customer version of their Dakar-winning bike. Limited to a production run of 150 units, this rally weapon is nearly identical to its Factory Rally counterpart, featuring components designed to deliver the exact performance levels requested by KTM’s Dakar champions like Toby Price, Kevin Benavides, and, most recently, Daniel Sanders.

This year, however, KTM is also introducing something even more exclusive—the Sanders Edition. Limited to just five units, this extra special model honors Daniel Sanders’ 2025 Dakar victory. Both the standard Rally Replica and the Sanders Edition are the only customer race models developed, produced and assembled by the official KTM Motorsports facility in Austria, built for professional and privateer rally racers alike.

The two models boast a fuel-injected 450cc SOHC engine paired with a six-speed gearbox and a premium KTM hydraulic clutch. Dual radiators provide reliable cooling in the harshest conditions, while the frame—hand-welded at KTM’s Motorsports production facility—uses laser-cut and hydro-formed sections for improved stability, energy absorption, and rider feedback. A die-cast aluminum swingarm further enhances handling.

For long stages, the bikes are equipped with three fuel tanks—two in the front and one in the rear—offering a total capacity of approximately 34.5 liters (9.1 gallons). The 2026 model includes WP PRO suspension for adjustability and balance. Up front, the 48mm WP XACT PRO 7548 Closed Cartridge Cone Valve fork, with 304mm (12 inches) of travel, is secured by CNC-machined triple clamps with a 23mm offset. The upper clamp integrates a PHDS system and a Scotts steering damper. At the rear, the fully-adjustable WP XACT PRO 7750 shock offers 280 mm (11 inches) of suspension travel. 

The cockpit has been refined over more than a decade to optimize comfort and functionality. A fairing designed to minimize turbulence and rider fatigue pairs with a carbon fiber navigation tower, which houses the KTM rally dashboard, built-in warning lights, and mounts for the digital roadbook system.

An LED headlight setup ensures visibility in low-light conditions. The bike also incorporates essential tools and safety features while maintaining what KTM calls “a low overall weight,” making it well-suited for anything from technical rocky sections to vast desert stretches.

Additionally, the official Factory Team will be present at the 2025 KTM Europe Adventure Rally that will take place in Romania on August 25 – 29, bringing the Factory truck and a dedicated mechanic to provide exclusive support to each of the five new owners. Availability and Price

The KTM 450 Rally Replica is limited to only 150 units worldwide—and they go fast! KTM’s announcement didn’t confirm pricing but previous models had a price tag of around EUR 25,900 ($27,220 USD) plus VAT & shipping. Obviously, the ultra-exclusive Sanders Edition, with only five units up for grabs, is expected to carry a much higher price tag. Orders are currently open at authorized KTM dealers.
