Bridgestone Announces New Battlax Adventure Trail AT41 Tire
A new on-road focused adventure tire for those that spend more time on tarmac.

Expanding on their range of tires for the adventure segment, Bridgestone has announced the release of new rubber for riders looking to spend most of their time on pavement. Entering their lineup as a 80% road / 20% off-road design, the Battlax Adventure Trail AT41 complements the existing A41 and AX41 in the company’s Battlax family.

According to Bridgestone, the new tire incorporates rugged features with a touring compound to provide great dry performance as well as better grip, traction and braking in wet weather. This is said to be achieved by the tire’s optimized groove design which combines increased average groove volumes and a more consistent groove ratio in the contact area resulting in improved water drainage. In addition, the company states the AT41 offers greater stability due to the optimal belt construction of the new pattern.
Although Bridgestone doesn’t specify what mileage you can get from the new AT41s, the touring compound – with 3LC (Dual Compound) used on the rear – is developed to offer a great lifespan in all weather conditions. Plus, the new block shape of the tire’s design helps reduce partial wear on its shoulder.

Bridgestone’s latest adventure tire will be available February 2022 in nine sizes (4 front and 5 rear), all with M+S markings (approved for mud and snow). With the addition of the AT41, Bridgestone’s range of Battlax Tires covers most of the motorcycles in the Adventure segment.

Such an odd name for a street biased adventure tire. I’ve seen the existing “Adventure Trail”, and I thought about how fast it would wear out, for me. The sipes are not very deep, and I think I would be generous in describing it as an 80/20 (street / off-road). Would I use it off-road? Sure if I was *forced* to do it.
I agree with Bret Tkacs, don’t be ‘under tired’ for the off road ADV riding part. I use the AX41 Adventurecross tires on my KTM 790 Adventure R and find them to be excellent even on the street despite their ‘knobby’ design. I was an expert class club road racer for many years and continue to be impressed with how hard I can push them. The rear wears a bit fast but otherwise happy. I’d be wishing for a different tire if I were running these when I got off road.
