Cardo Systems has introduced a new trade-in initiative designed to make upgrading motorcycle communication systems more affordable, allowing riders to receive up to $130 back when purchasing a new PACKTALK device. The program is available exclusively in the United States and accepts eligible communication systems from both Cardo and competing brands. 

The new trade-in offer aims to simplify the upgrade process for motorcyclists who may be using older communication devices. According to Cardo, riders can trade in devices regardless of their condition, including units that are broken or no longer functioning, provided they meet the program’s eligibility requirements. Trade-in values vary depending on the brand and model submitted, with qualifying participants receiving as much as $130 in cash back toward their upgrade. The rebates on older models appear to be fairly generous too. For example, you could get $90 for your Cardo G9X or $80 for an old Sena SMH5. 

The program also reflects a growing focus on sustainability within the powersports industry. Cardo says that devices received through the trade-in process may be refurbished for continued use or recycled responsibly, helping reduce electronic waste while extending the lifecycle of existing products. 

Participating riders begin by selecting a new PACKTALK communicator through Cardo’s online store and choosing the trade-in option during the purchase process. After entering information about their current communication system, customers receive an estimated trade-in value. The new device is purchased at full price, and Cardo then provides a prepaid FedEx shipping label for the trade-in. Once the old unit is received and verified, the applicable cash-back amount is refunded to the customer’s original payment method. 

HOW CARDO TRADE-IN WORKS

1. CHOOSE YOUR PACKTALK: Select your new PACKTALK at our online store and choose Buy with Trade-In. Enter the brand and model of your current communication system to see your estimated trade-in value.

2. COMPLETE YOUR PURCHASE: Purchase your new PACKTALK at full price. Cardo will send you a prepaid FedEx shipping label for your trade-in.

3. SEND YOUR OLD DEVICE: Pack up your old communication system and ship it to Cardo within 30 days using the prepaid label.

4. GET YOUR CASH BACK: Once your trade-in arrives and is verified, your eligible cash-back amount will be refunded directly to your original payment method.

The trade-in program is open to riders regardless of their current communications brand, providing a pathway for competitors’ customers to switch into the PACKTALK ecosystem. While Cardo noted that the initiative is currently limited to the U.S. market, the company indicated that it hopes to expand the offering internationally in the future.
