‘Long Way Up’ Official Trailer Released Ahead of Series Debut

We get a glimpse of Ewan & Charley’s new moto adventure thru the Americas.

Published on 09.01.2020

Just last month, we reported that Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman’s big moto adventure through South and Central America would be airing on Apple TV+. Now, the streaming platform has dropped the official trailer ahead of the series debut. The famous duo are known for getting into precarious situations on their motorcycle journeys and true to form, this time they are riding modified electric Harleys instead of their trusty boxer-engined BMW’s — a twist that is expected to offer a whole host of new challenges on their 13,000-mile journey through the Americas.

From riding through frozen Patagonia in winter, climbing to extreme heights in the Andes and experiencing the endangered jungles of South America, the trailer teases Ewan and Charley’s struggles charging their bikes. Scenes show them trying to find power to keep the ride moving, often relying on the help of complete strangers to get them back on the road. We also get a glimpse of the highs and lows of riding through unpredictable weather and challenging terrain in areas that are so remote that even Ewan McGregor can interact with people in complete anonymity.

From what we see in the trailer, we expect the new series should not disappoint. This electric-powered adventure from Ushuaia, Argentina to Los Angeles appears to have all of the entertaining commentary and epic scenery we’ve come to expect from the ‘Long Way Round’ and ‘Long Way Down’ series. And this time, the two best pals are looking to encourage a new wave of e-powered adventure riders — not unlike their previous journeys that inspired countless riders to chase after the dream of traveling across distant lands.

The long-awaited Long Way Up series premieres globally on Apple TV+ Sept. 18, with new episodes released each Friday. The streaming service is offered through the Apple TV app accessible on Apple devices, Roku, Fire TV and Smart TVs or you can go to tv.apple.com to watch on your computer.
