DIY ADV Ride: Utah Red Rocks to Colorado Mountain Tops In 4 Days

A detailed ride plan of Moab and Colorado with maps and GPS tracks all free!

Published on 09.02.2020

The Rocky Mountain ATV/MC crew are at it again. They just launched a new self-guided adventure route in their “RM Rides” series, and this one is their toughest yet! RM Rides provide Adventure Riders with “free” adventure travel videos with detailed ride reports, maps and GPS tracks of amazing dual sport rides. They help take the guesswork out of ride planning and make it easy to recreate the adventure with your own group of friends.

Their newest adventure route called the “Red Rocks to Mountain Tops” is a four-day dual sport ride through both Utah and Colorado that encompasses nearly 800 miles. The route starts in Moab, Utah and takes riders on a loop through the high rockies of Colorado and back again.

The Red Rocks to Mountain Tops Adventure Ride has been years in the making and showcases some of the most spectacular views the West has to offer. Winding with the Colorado River, summiting 13,000-foot mountain passes, and traveling by abandoned mines, powerful waterfalls, and varied historical landmarks. It has a little bit of everything that an adventure rider might want to explore including alpine forests, slickrock, wide-open desert, impressive rock formations, cultural sites, and more. The incredible scenery on the trail is guaranteed to take your breath away if the high elevations don’t.

Riders encounter a variety of terrain on route, with some spots more technical than others. While previous RM Rides were designed for a range of adventure riders with various skills, this route leans more toward the experienced rider. Several alternate hard routes let you test your skills, yet those new to off-road riding can stay on the main track for an easier ride.

Rocky Mountain ATV/MC has done all the leg work documenting this epic adventure ride in great detail, now all you have to do is get all your buddies together and ride! Why are they giving this away for free? The guys at RMATV/MC are all about riding hard and having fun on the trail. They want to make it easier for riders to get out on the trails to experience big adventures. And perhaps, after you break a few parts on some of the tough sections, you’ll know where to go to get replacements.

Check out the Rocky Mountain ATV/MC website for more details on the Red Rocks to Mountain Tops and other ride plans in the RM Series.

Hey Jamie. Looks like the Rocky Mountain website is currently undergoing some updates but they say the “Red Rocks to Mountain Tops” ride should be back online early next week. If you need some info sooner, you can email info@rmrides.com and they will be happy to help you out.

I have the GPX file for the RMATVMC Idaho route if you want them. Some, not all, of the RMATVMC videos on YouTube have a link to the GPX files.
