KTM US Adventure Rider Rally Gets An Extreme Team Challenge

An epic weekend with KTM and fellow ADV riders in the Rocky Mountains.

Published on 03.14.2025

The KTM Adventure Rider Rally is turning 20, and the celebration is returning to the stunning Rocky Mountains in Breckenridge, Colorado for an adrenaline seeking weekend on two-wheels. The rally is geared toward KTM Adventure and Enduro riders, but don’t worry if you ride a different brand — all street-legal motorcycles are welcome.

A total of 300 riders are expected to descend on Breckenridge for an unforgettable experience in some of the most scenic mountain landscapes around. Picture rugged peaks, lush alpine forests, and serene valleys as your backdrop, while you tackle everything from challenging trails to beginner-friendly routes.

Things kick off on September 11th, with a demo day where riders will have the opportunity to test KTM’s latest travel and dual-sport models. The list of available demo machines hasn’t been confirmed yet but we wouldn’t be surprised if the soon-to-be-released 390 Adventure R or 390 Enduro R crash the party.

The rally experience continues with two riding days featuring meticulously scouted GPS tracks provided by KTM. Participants can either choose to lead their own self-guided rides or join KTM Pros, such as Taylor Robert, Ryan Dungey, Marvin Musquin, Paul Krause, or Mike Lafferty, on a route after the rider’s meeting at basecamp each day. Just keep in mind that a GPS device, as well as a SPOT, InReach, or similar personal locator beacon (PLB), is required for all riders.

Terrain explored will be suited for various skill levels, from rocky, technical single-track trails for experienced riders, to smoother paths for beginners – there’s something for everyone. KTM will provide common lunch and gas stops, fostering that camaraderie that makes this event special. There will also be seminars on riding techniques and plenty of adventure vendors on-site.

Extreme Adventure Team Challenge

This year’s rally will also see a new element added, the Extreme Adventure Team Challenge. Led by KTM’s own Quinn Cody and Chris Fillmore, this challenge will feature two-rider teams on a challenging, two-stage rally designed to test their riding ability, navigation skills, and mental toughness.

Teams will start at Beaver Run Resort and navigate through a series of off-road challenges to an undisclosed overnight location; the second stage will return to Breckenridge via a separate and also challenging route. Riders will navigate using the provided Rally-Comp device and should be prepared to be pushed to their limits with navigation and over extreme technical terrain.

The big prize? A trip to the 2026 KTM Australia Adventure Rallye. To be considered for the Extreme Adventure Team Challenge, riders must complete the application process. Applicants who meet the requirements, will be randomly selected to participate in the competition and notified in May. Please note, the Extreme Adventure Team Challenge is exclusively for expert-level off-road riders.
