MIVV Announces New Slip-on Exhausts for the KTM 790 Adventure

Fresh new slip-on systems now available from Italian exhaust maker MIVV.

Published on 10.22.2019

The new KTM 790 Adventure has already been selected by many riders as their weapon of choice for both short range Adventure rides and RTW journeys. For the owners of either one of the two model versions, the standard and the R variant,  MIVV is now offering two different exhausts: OVAL and SPEED EDGE.

Both exhaust options are available as a Slip On, therefore easily interchangeable with the original muffler. The slip-on exhausts can be selected in different materials and finishes, and  are also in full compliance with Euro4 homologation.

MIVV exhaust for KTM 790 Adventure

According to MIVV,  their aftermarket exhaust systems are developed through testing multiple solutions to identify the models that not only improve the power and torque output, but also matching the design that best suits the lines of the specific motorcycle. “On top of that we take pride in adding the extra touch, the signature MIVV sound,” explains the manufacturer.

MIVV also provides the optimal mounting brackets to the frame and develops all the necessary accessories, which in this case are the included heat shield, mounted on the link pipe near the rider’s leg.

OVAL Slip-On Exhaust

This is the MIVV slip-on that fits almost any type of motorcycle thanks to its shape. For the 2019 KTM 790 Adventure, the OVAL is available with titanium or carbon body. Both versions have a carbon end cap, a removable dB Killer and feature open slits on the cap for a more sporty look to the silencer.

Dyno test data (at the wheel): Increase in performance throughout the engine rev’s range, with peaks of +2.50 hp at 6,700 rpm and 4.2 ft-lbs (5.7 Nm) at 2,900 rpm, without losing the operational fluidity offered by the twin cylinder. Weight savings is 2.2 lbs (1 kg).

SPEED EDGE Slip-On Exhaust

Its unique hexagonal design perfectly matches the motorcycle’s frame. End cap and mounting bracket are available in carbon fiber. There are two versions for the 2019 KTM 790 Adventure S and R: STAINLESS STEEL, with a brushed steel body and STEEL BLACK, with a main stainless-steel body in “Black Satin” finish, obtained with a special coloring process. The exhaust is equipped with a removable dB-killer.

Dyno test data (at the wheel): Increase over the entire engine rev’s range, with a close alignment to the values of the standard motorcycle between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm. The detected maximum torque and power values are further increased: + 3.3 hp at 6,800 rpm and 4.5 ft-lbs (6.1 Nm) at 2,800 rpm, enhancing an already rewarding low range pull. Weight savings is just under 2.2 lbs (1 kg).

Retail Prices

OVAL in Carbon or Titanium version: US$459.00 (msrp)

SPEED EDGE Stainless Steel version: US$539 (msrp)

SPEED EDGE Steel Black version: US$594.00 (msrp)

The slip on exhausts will be available in November of 2019. More information about their KTM 790 Adventure exhaust systems and distributors is available on the MIVV website.
