Rocky Mountain ATV/MC Recalls Tusk 2Track Adventure Tire
Recall underway for potential tread detachment issues.

Rocky Mountain ATV/MC is recalling their Tusk 2Track Adventure tire due to a manufacturing error affecting the tread layer. The defect affects approximately 900 rear motorcycle tires, size 150/70B-18 manufactured between October, 2023 and January 14, 2024.
According to the defect report by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the tread layer was improperly cured to the carcass during the manufacturer’s vulcanization process, which can result in sections of tread detaching from the tire.
The issue was discovered after RMATV was notified by its supplier that certain tires sold may have deviated from design specifications in a manner that could pose a risk of tire chunking. Further testing by the supplier identified a specific lot of the 2Track Adventure rear tires that were produced with a potential deviation in the vulcanizing process. RMATV immediately stopped selling the identified model and initiated an investigation to determine the cause and potential consequences of this reported issue.
Although RMATV is not aware of reports of crashes or fatalities, they have determined that a potential safety risk due to insufficient curing time cannot be ruled out and decided to conduct a recall. The company states that owners should be wary of warning signs such as tread knob chunking.

Customers will be notified of the voluntary recall campaign via mail on or before May 15, 2024. Owners may also contact RMATV customer service at 1-801-465-3140 or the NHTSA Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 and refer to the NHTSA recall number 24T-004.
