BMW Motorrad GS Camp 2014 Competition Highlights

Four days of training and competition in the swamps and forests of Russia.

Published on 08.27.2014

Each year BMW Motorrad of Russia puts on an event for GS enthusiasts. For 2014, the event had a summer camp theme that included two days of training and two days of competition. The GS Camp event took place in July on the picturesque shore of Lake Derbovezh in the Tver region of Russia.

Dozens of riders got an opportunity to relax by the lake, learn new skills, ride through the forest and have fun competing against each other. Riders were split up into 10 teams of two riders each. The competition involved a timed GPS navigation challenge through the woods and an obstacle course.

Points were awarded for completing the challenges and the top three riders won trophies and a spot on the Russian GS Trophy Team. The winners will now represent their country in the upcoming international GS Trophy event in Canada this September.

This highlight video of the GS Camp 2014 was filmed by Danny Kushnarevich, a rising star in Adventure Bike filmmaking. Danny recently gained attention for a film he produced showing a BMW R1200GS Adventure riding from Moscow to the newly annexed Crimea. After producing the popular Crimean film, Danny was invited by BMW Motorrad of Russia to film the GS Camp 2014.
