CFMoto Confirms Ibex 950 For U.S. Market As Part Of 2027 Lineup
A new flagship Ibex model joins the brand’s expanding ADV range.
CFMoto has announced the arrival of its new 950cc adventure bike as a 2027 model. The machine was first announced last year in overseas markets under the name 1000MT‑X, and the U.S. version appears to be the same long‑travel, off‑road‑focused configuration — simply rebranded as the Ibex 950 for North America to align with the naming convention already established by the Ibex 450 and Ibex 800 models.

The Ibex 950 enters our shores as the company’s off-road focused big-bore ADV. It uses a 946cc parallel twin producing 112 hp and 77.5 lb‑ft of torque, built on the LC8c platform that CFMoto manufactures under license from KTM. The engine is mounted as a stressed member within a tubular steel frame paired with an aluminum swingarm. Suspension is fully adjustable KYB front and rear, offering 9.1 inches of travel at both ends. Ground clearance is listed at 9.4 inches, and the bike rolls on a 21/18 spooked wheelset shod with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tires.

Other off‑road‑leaning elements include a high‑mounted front fender, a low‑slung fuel tank design for better CG, a 22‑position adjustable steering damper, wrap‑around handguards, slipper clutch, and a skid plate with broad coverage. The seat is also a one-piece design with a mild step-up in the rear, coming in at 34.3 inches in height.

Despite the dirt‑leaning chassis, the Ibex 950 arrives with a full suite of travel amenities. Standard equipment includes an adjustable windscreen, heated grips, heated seat, a rear top rack, and an 8‑inch vertical TFT touchscreen. Electronic rider aids are extensive for the price point, featuring Bosch cornering ABS, traction control, cruise control, TPMS, and a bi‑directional quickshifter. Brakes are by Brembo featuring radial-mounted dual calipers on 320mm discs up front and a single 260mm floating disc in the rear. The bike also offers 5 ride modes — Standard, Rain, Off‑Road, All‑Terrain, and Master (custom mode) — supported by an IMU‑based stability control system.

Weight is listed at 489 pounds wet, which is relatively light for a liter‑class adventure bike with this level of equipment. Fuel capacity comes in at 5.9 gallons, which should offer 200+ miles of range for longer‑distance travel.

CFMoto has set U.S. pricing at $12,499, positioning the Ibex 950 on the low end of the liter‑class segment while offering a competitive mix of performance and travel equipment standard. Optional accessories announced for the U.S. market include a heavy‑duty aluminum skid plate, tall touring windscreen, a three‑piece pannier set, radiator guard, heated low seat, and more.

With the Ibex 950, CFMoto continues expanding its presence in the U.S. adventure segment, bringing over a reasonably priced big-bore ADV model that will likely be a compelling option in this competitive category. As far as availability, CFMoto says the Ibex 950 is projected to arrive at dealers towards the end of the 2026 calendar year.
