Akrapovič Moves Beyond Exhausts With Launch Of Titanium Footpegs

Grade-5 Ti construction delivers strength & durability for rugged off-road ADV travel.

Published on 09.16.2026

Akrapovič, long known for its premium exhaust systems, has expanded into hard‑parts accessories with the release of a new aftermarket line of titanium footpegs designed specifically for adventure riders.

It’s a meaningful move because the company isn’t just entering a new product category; it’s applying real engineering to a part that takes constant abuse during off‑road riding. Footpegs get hammered by rock strikes, tip‑overs, and the constant load cycling of long days standing through whoops, climbs, and rough terrain. Typical OEM steel pegs resist breaking but are heavy and can bend. Aluminum aftermarket versions shed weight but are more prone to cracking or snapping under hard impacts.

These new adventure pegs use Grade 5 titanium, giving them high yield strength to resist bending, high fatigue strength to handle vibration and repeated load cycles, excellent corrosion resistance for long‑term exposure, and a weight similar to aluminum while offering greater strength.

Akrapovič states their new pegs are cast in‑house using the same lightweight‑materials expertise applied to its titanium exhaust components. Casting the structure as a single piece eliminates welds and heat‑affected zones, which are common weak points off‑road.

Features

  • High yield strength  —  resists bending or snapping under heavy impacts.
  • High fatigue strength  —  resists cracking from vibration and repeated load cycles.
  • Excellent corrosion resistance  —  ideal for long‑term exposure to the elements.
Lighter weight  —  similar to aluminum while providing greater strength.

Stability, Grip And Functionality

The footpeg design uses a wide octagonal platform supported by a Y‑shaped internal rib that stiffens the structure and helps distribute load evenly. This geometry improves stability when standing and offers better control while riding in technical terrain. Central teeth provide secure boot grip, while the wide platform reduces fatigue and helps riders shift weight smoothly front‑to‑back when standing up on the pegs.

For long highway transfers, each set includes rubber pads that reduce vibration and add comfort. Riders can also remove them in seconds, without tools, when transitioning to dirt.

Pricing & Availability

Titanium components typically command premium pricing, but Akrapovič’s footpegs land lower than expected. Sets retail around $270 USD, which is in line with what riders pay for high‑end CNC aluminum pegs from brands like Fastway, IMS, or Black Dog. Given the material advantages — higher strength, better fatigue resistance, and corrosion protection — they offer a meaningful upgrade without a price jump.
