Akrapovic Launches New Ti Slip-On System For Suzuki V-Strom 800DE

Save weight and get a bump in power across the RPM range for the new adventurer.

Published on 07.07.2023

Akrapovic has unveiled a Titanium Slip-On exhaust system for Suzuki’s new middleweight adventurer — the V-Strom 800DE. Constructed using race-proven materials, the system is 23.6% lighter than the stock exhaust while improving overall performance and sound.

The new slip-on for the most off-road oriented model in the V-Strom line up, boasts high-grade titanium for the muffler outer sleeve, a stainless-steel link pipe and muffler inner structure, and a carbon-fiber end cap, the exhaust is then finished with special imprints to provide an impressive visual statement. Complementing the exhaust, the new carbon-fiber heatshield – which is included in the package – has been designed from scratch and its shape totally covers the link pipe to help protect the passenger gear from heat, making it both practical and stylish.

The focus of the Akrapovič engineers while developing this exhaust was also on the throttle response and rideability of the V-Strom 800DE, with power gains in the mid and high rpm range. According to Akrapovič, the new slip-on produces a power increase of 1.5 hp @ 6,000 rpm and a torque gain of 1 ft-lb @ 6,100 rpm, when compared with the stock system. Weight has also been reduced through the use of lightweight materials delivering a reduction of 2.7 lbs (1.2 kg).

As part of Akrapovic’s slip-on line, the company states the upgrade is not only about peak power; their “exhaust systems deliver increased performance throughout the entire RPM range. Increases in power and torque result in a much smoother power delivery and ride.”

The Suzuki V-Strom 800DE exhaust system currently retails for $1,117 and is fully homologated to EC/ECE standards. It has a simple plug-and-play installation, with no remapping needed. For more information go to akrapovic.com
