Get A Sneak Peek Of All-New Black Hills BDR-X Route Coming Soon
BDR unveils video trailer and release date for latest ‘X’ route in South Dakota.
We’ve covered what this new “X” route format is all about before but in a nutshell, BDR-Xs are typically 200-500 miles in length, take only a few days to complete, and conveniently take riders back to where they started. These make them a great option for those that don’t have the time to do a full BDR.
The first in the series was the Red Desert in Wyoming, followed by the Pennsylvania Wilds and more recently the Steens Mountain & Alvord Desert in Oregon. Now the non-profit organization is taking this new concept to South Dakota with the confirmed release of the fourth BDR-X route this July in a live YouTube Broadcast. The live stream will include the 30-minute expedition documentary film, the release of the GPS tracks, printable map, and route resources, as well as an exclusive behind-the-scenes look into the route’s creation and inaugural expedition.
BDR-X Black Hills
The upcoming BDR-X serves as the organization’s introduction to BDR exploration in the Midwest. Covering 355 miles, this route showcases the diverse landscapes of South Dakota, from vast prairies and lush pine forests, to distinctive rock structures, and majestic aspen groves.
“We have carefully crafted a route that captures the essence of what makes BDRs special. Beyond exhilarating riding and scenery, the Black Hills BDR-X offers numerous attractions, such as hiking, waterfalls, wildlife, parks, and monuments. We are confident that this route will leave riders eager to return.” – Michael Bielecki, BDR Routes Manager & Route Co-Architect
Riders embarking on the route will experience a variety of terrain, including gravel and dirt roads, challenging two-track and world-class stretches of pavement. Notable highlights include historic towns, Mount Rushmore, the picturesque Spearfish Canyon, the legendary Needles Highway, and the scenic Custer Wildlife Loop, among other attractions.
YouTube Live Broadcast
The new BDR-X route will be officially released during a live stream on the BDR YouTube Channel on July 22nd at 8:30pm MTN. The broadcast will be aired from the Revzilla Get On! ADV Fest and will therefore be enjoyed by both festival attendees and online viewers across the globe. Following the event, rally participants will have the opportunity to be the first ones to ride the new route.
As always, once released you will find tracks, maps and resources for free at ridebdr.com.
