Recall Issued For the New Can-Am Origin & Pulse E-Motorcycles
A battery housing issue triggers recall of the recently-launched models.

Fresh from launching their new Origin and Pulse electric motorcycles this year, Can-Am (parent company Bombardier Recreational Products) is issuing a recall for the two models due to a problem that may affect the high-voltage battery. It is estimated that a total of 474 units produced between May 2, 2024 and March 15, 2025 are affected by the safety recall.
According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), affected motorcycles have been equipped with a breather valve that may not seal properly, allowing moisture or water to enter the high-voltage battery. This could lead to loss of drive power or a battery fire, even when the vehicle is not being driven.

The problem was first detected in March when an improperly clipped breather valve was discovered during qualification tests by BRP. Further analysis to understand the root cause found that many of the battery housing covers were not manufactured to specifications (too thick), and did not allow a proper breather valve assembly. Upon this discovery, the company felt a safety recall was necessary on the identified population of vehicles.
Models Affected:
MAKE | MODEL | YEAR |
CAN-AM | ORIGIN | 2025 |
CAN-AM | PULSE | 2025 |
Solution
BRP/Can-Am will instruct its dealers to install a new protection plate with a rubber stopper designed to push on the breather valve, ensuring a secure seal with the battery housing. If necessary, the breather valve will also be changed with a new part of the same design.
The replacement will be free of charge (parts and labor) for customers and it is expected to take less than an hour to complete. Notification letters to owners are expected to be mailed May 6, 2025. Owners with questions about the recall may also contact the BRP customer service at 1-888-272-9222 as well as the NHTSA Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or www.nhtsa.gov. The NHTSA safety ID number is 25V275.
