Schuberth Unveils Next-Generation E2 Flip-Up Adventure Helmet
The new lid combines the best of both touring and off-road features.
After 3 years of development, Schuberth has finally debuted the next generation E2 flip-up adventure helmet. Packed with the brand’s latest standards, the new helmet takes the features of the original E1 and improves on them in terms of safety, aerodynamics and aeroacoustics performance.
While developing the new E2, engineers and test riders spent long hours in the Schuberth wind tunnel and on the road to optimize the design of the helmet. A specific emphasis was put on the peak, which has been completely redesigned to minimize buffeting and vibrations. Like the E1, the new helmet offers multiple helmet configurations and the peak was designed not only to be easily adjusted to three positions but also to be easily removed.
Another welcome update is the revised ventilation system which includes changes to the air intakes and air extractor. The E2 is equipped with a two position adjustable top vent as well as a new enlarged spoiler featuring an air extractor to ensure optimal airflow when riding in the most challenging conditions.
Ventilation is also delivered through an improved double chin air intake: the top vent prevents visor fogging while riding in cold conditions, and the lower vent delivers additional airflow while riding in extreme warm conditions. To prevent dust, mud or insects from entering in the helmet the chin vent features a washable and changeable filter.
Now meeting the ECE 22.06 standard, the E2’s shell is made of fiberglass and reinforced with carbon fiber, for improved absorption and lighter weight. The E2 is also the second helmet of Schuberth’s range to feature the P/J double homologation which makes it legal to ride with it in the open and closed position.
The new lid is also equipped with the Anti-Roll-System connected with a chin strap in a new position for improved comfort around the throat area. Also improved is the field of view thanks to a new faceshield position mechanism and to a new V-lock sun visor mechanism.
As with all Schuberth helmets, the linings of the E2 are made with high-end antibacterial and breathable fabrics from Italy, respecting the strict OEKO-TEX 100 standards. To accommodate all head shapes, the new Schuberth E2 is part of the brand’s individual program which offers multiple customization possibilities for the helmet linings.
The new E2 is also set up for the Schuberth SC2 communication system. The helmet is pre-wired with HD speakers and three antennas for Mesh intercom, Bluetooth intercom and FM Radio. Thanks to the Mesh 2.0 technology, it is now possible to connect with a virtually limitless number of participants. In addition, this new system offers the latest HS speakers and microphone by Sena, the Advanced Noise Control, the digital assistant and a claimed range of up to 2 Km.
Schuberth has not given a specific release date for North America only saying “It will take some time to bring it to the shelves of our dealers worldwide, but [we] hope that soon everyone can choose their favorite color or decal.”
For 2023 the company will offer the new E2 in 3 solid colors and 2 graphics in 7 different color combinations. Seven sizes are available from XS (53) to XXXL (65), with two different helmet shell dimensions. Claimed weight for the small and large sizes is 1644 g and 1666 g respectively (without accessories). The solid color helmets start at a recommended retail price of 699 Euros, while the decal versions are available at the recommended price of 799 Euros.

“To accommodate all head shapes, the new Schuberth E2 is part of the brand’s individual program which offers multiple customization possibilities for the helmet linings”. Sounds like a very nice helmet but in my case need a long oval shell. Not sure if the lining options would fully and comfortably accommodate my alien head.
Yeah me too…my head is pear shaped: wider at the back than the front. Helmet manufacturers have so far assumed we are all round or oval shape. In a low speed crash 3yrs ago my helmet swiveled around my narrow face & smashed my face in…13 fractures and eye socket depressed 8mm. Unrepairable, but I was ugly anyway. I had previously tried on the Schuberth E1 keen to buy, but my chin was in contact with the helmet…weird because I don’t have a big chin at all…dunno who Schuberth used for their test dummies. I’ll try the E2…hopefully they have a roomier chin area, + optional liners to fit pear-heads!
I love my E2, comfortable and relatively quiet, with premium materials inside, but I don’t use it for ADV riding, I tried several times, but it is very hot at slow speeds without the ability to use goggles, and the drop down shade is a huge dust magnet making it more difficult to see…on road it is excellent, off road not so good IMO
I have not been able to wear a Schuberth helmet since the C2. The change in shell shape. The newer Concept helmets create pressure at the front and rear. I wear a 3xl so going to a larger size is not an option. Will this helmet with the customization work for me? I would prefer the Concept if you could make it on the old shell if that were possible. I love your helmets & am dow to my lasr C2! Please help me be a customer again.
