Watch Ricky Carmichael Rip Triumph’s All-New 250cc Motocross Bike
Our first sight of Triumph’s upcoming motocross bike in its final test before launch.
Another sneak peek of the all-new Triumph motocross bike dropped today, ahead of its upcoming release. This time we get a little more than just a peek and get to watch legend Ricky Carmichael and current motocross racer Evan Ferry rip the pre-production model around a track!
From what we can tell from the slow motion whips, floating through the whoops and launching big doubles, it appears to be a legit dirt bike with real capability. Besides the aluminum spine frame and DOHC engine revealed in previous teasers, we can also see bump absorption is carried out by KYB suspension while Brembo brakes provide stopping power.
Test riders claim that it has a “really balanced” feel that Triumph worked hard to achieve. Ricky also praises its ability to pull second gear out of turns and nimble handling that makes it easy to pick a line. Ferry compliments the unique feel of the frame, “I think they found something special for sure with the frame.”
More than anything, it’s exciting to see the GOAT back on the track who appears just as smooth and fast as ever in what is said to be the ‘final test’ of Triumph’s new 250cc motocross bike. Ricky ends the video stating “I’m excited to get this thing out and rolling. It’s been a long time coming.” And I think we all concur with that statement. After a series of recent teasers from the UK brand discussing the aluminum spine frame and engine development, and now this first look at the bike in action, it’s about time we get the full reveal!
We’re anticipating an official launch date and release of the full specs any day now. Stay tuned for updates as this is expected to be the final teaser before the full reveal. We’ll keep you posted!
