Meet the X.WED 2: NEXX’s New, Feature-Packed Adventure Helmet
NEXX announces new X.WED 2 Adventure Helmet to replace the popular XD1.

NEXX has announced the all-new X.WED 2, the successor to the popular XD.1 adventure helmet, showcasing key updates and improvements. Despite looking very similar to its predecessor, the Nexx X.WED 2 packs in more advanced features than ever and a long list of refinements designed to offer the ultimate all-road, all-weather, adventure helmet. Addressing the extent of the changes, the Portuguese manufacturer adds, “the only thing that is changed is everything.”
Increased Stability
The new X.WED 2 receives a new more aerodynamic and lighter peak strategically designed to provide additional direct air intake. The new design significantly reduces buffeting and vibration at high speeds and includes a new adjustable Multi-Position system (incline/decline up to 10 mm).
Increased Ventilation
A new ventilation system offers a three-position upper vent for optimal air intake. Dual side intakes now have a position and angle that increases fresh air and is easier to handle and grip with winter gloves.
Further changes to the NEXX X.WED 2 have been implemented to the chin ventilation intake which now draws more fresh air into the mouth area. In addition, the EPS liner has also been modified adding more air channels to allow the extra air to pass over the head and out of the helmet.
Increased Comfort
The new X.WED 2 now comes in additional shell sizes (3 shell and 4 EPS liner sizes) that combine more compact dimensions with outstanding fit and comfort. NEXX has also refined the 3D lining and top liner to direct fresh air around the head contour.
NEXX’s goal to develop a more quiet helmet is also achieved in the new chin curtain. The new design not only provides a more snug fit around the neck and lower facial area but also reduces wind noise and drafts.
Increased Safety
The X.WED 2 has received a new Emergency Strap System built into each cheek Pad. This key upgrade allows easier and gentler access to an injured rider´s head by trained medical personnel.

Nothing shows the chin strap. Double D ring, or ?
Increasing all that venting and the design goal is a quieter helmet? OK, I’ll wait for a user review. I like venting but I like quiet too.
Does the X-COM make the helmet unsuitable for any other comms system? Like, something I might already own? (Sena)
Thanks!
The X-COM is just a hole, basically. on my XD-1 I put my Sena 20S over the plate and run the wires thru it. None of the features look new… only improved. It’s a nice lid though
“None of the features are new”?? New ventilation system, the peak is significantly changed, a new shell size, new emergency strap system etc… I can’t wait for this lid to become available!
Absolutely, you can run other Bluetooth headsets with this helmet. We’ve tested the Sena 10s on the XD1 before which has the same shell. The X-Com panel has a flush cover so it does not interfere with normal installation of the Sena clamp mounts. However, that’s an interesting idea Matt brought up of using the X-Com panel to run the wiring. And yes it uses a double D-Ring on the helmet strap.
Like the looks of the Nexx X WED 2 helmet. Same with the previous Nexx. Now that the size m/l appear to have a dedicated shell, I’ll have to take a good look at this helmet once it is available. Shield availability will be important too as I prefer a dark out shield and the clear drop-down–seldom ride at night.
the most important detail, weight, is not mentiones
+1!
A good number to know. Unfortunately NEXX has not provided that information. We’ll add that spec as soon as it is available.
