Sena Unveils First Intelligent Noise-Cancelling Helmet
Innovative new helmet techology from Sena takes quiet riding to a new level.
Sena is known as an innovator in Bluetooth intercoms and action cameras. Now they’ve taken their technological know-how to a new frontier by developing the world’s first intelligent noise-control (INC) helmet.
The new Sena “Smart Helmet” was unveiled to the media, dealers and trade members at the American International Motorcycle Expo (AIMExpo) today in Orlando. Sena’s first helmet will be equipped with an array of technology and offers a premium level of comfort, ergonomics and finish.
An ultralight and durable carbon fiber shell provides a high-quality experience, allowing the wearer to reduce hearing damage and fatigue caused by wind noise at sustained highway speeds. Noise cancelling technology works on the harmful frequencies, so you can still hear the sounds you want to hear during your ride. Without the background noise, riders can listen to music or speech at lower volume levels.
“We are ecstatic to yet again be pushing innovation with the world’s first true quiet helmet, with our focus as always on creating the safest and best riding experience possible for our customers.”
— Sena CEO, Tae Kim.
Sena’s new Smart Helmet analyzes sound information from an array of four networked microphones and makes real-time adjustments to phase out harmful helmet noises. With its intelligent noise-cancelling technology, optional Bluetooth Communication module and ultralight carbon fiber shell, the Smart Helmet is expected to offer a new riding experience for motorcyclists.
The Smart Helmet will be available early in 2016 in five different color options (Black, White, Natural Carbon Fiber, Hi-Viz Yellow, Silver) and is DOT and ECE certified. The final price is yet to be determined but is expected to retail in the $600-$800 range.

For that kind of money, it better include front and rear cameras too.
Nice, Make it modular Please.
It would have been more impressive if it lit up for night time riding and had noise cancellation with Bluetooth as standard., another plus would have been an integrated sun visor…but that’s just my opinion
About bloody time!!! Bose noise cancelling headsets have been available for over a decade so why has it taken so long to come up with a product like this?
I’m in, let me know when they are available.
