Trail Tech Launches Smart, Cordless Tire Inflator For Adventurers
New feature-packed portable air compressor packs a powerful punch.
Powersport accessories manufacturer Trail Tech has just announced the release of an all-new cordless tire inflation device. This portable Lithium-Ion powered air compressor is the perfect solution for off-road enthusiasts who regularly lower tire pressure when reaching the trail and raise tire pressure when returning to the street. It’s also ideal for quickly pumping up tires after fixing a flat and since it has its own battery, you don’t have to worry about discharging your bike’s battery like you do with 12-volt plug-in inflators.
The new hand-held device has ‘Smart’ features as well like a digitally-adjustable pressure setting, with a range of 2 – 150 psi, that lets you ‘set it and forget it’ when pumping up tires. Once it reaches the desired air pressure, it stops automatically. Operation is simple with several predefined settings or you can manually enter a target pressure, plus you can switch between PSI or Bar measurements.
The pump is compact in size too, fitting in the palm of your hand and weighing just 1.1 pounds, making it easy to pack away in your motorcycle luggage for extended trips. It’s built tough to withstand the abuses of off-road travel as well, with an aluminum housing and hard-sided carrying case (optional) for extra protection. The device even has its own internal cooling for extended run times and improved battery health.
Highlights
- Digitally adjustable pressure setting
- Accurate Pressure sensing
- Internally cooled for extended run times and improved battery health
- USB-A output for charging devices
- Built-in LED flashlight
- Rugged Aluminum housing
- Compatible with Schrader and Presta valves
- Sports needle included
- Threaded Air Hose connection
- Glove-friendly buttons
- Device recharges in an hour or less
- 2-year warranty
Other convenience features for your travels include a built-in LED flashlight to help aid riders during nighttime trailside fixes, and there’s even a power-out USB port so you can use the device’s powerful 5000mAh Li-ion battery for charging your other electronic devices (e.g. phone, GoPro, helmet intercom) when out in the wild. The charge time for a typical smartphone, when using it as a power bank, is about 80 minutes and the tire inflator itself can be recharged with the included USB-C charging cable in an hour or less.
Fill times may vary depending on the size of the tire and target air pressure setting but typically a tire takes around 3-5 minutes to fill from flat, and there is enough air pressure to easily set the tire bead out in the field. It’s powerful enough to fill four motorcycle tires or two truck tires from flat on a single charge. Once the device has been discharged, it’s small enough to fit in a tank bag (or glove box) to recharge it on the go from your vehicle’s charging system plugged into a USB charging port.
When not in service on the trail, the Trail Tech air compressor is a handy tool to have around the garage — keeping all your wheeled toys aired up, without the hassle of pulling a tangled power cord around. It’s compatible with both Schrader and Presta valves, and even comes with an inflation needle for filling sports balls. The Trail Tech Air Compressor comes with a two-year warranty and is now available on the TrailTech.net website with an MSRP of $69.95.

This is just a rebranded Chinese/Amazon/Alibaba product.
Except this one has a much larger battery, better interface, and is backed by a 2-year warranty.
Agreed. I have a Fanttik X8 I got in mid-2022. Works great, but a bit heavier and smaller battery. I’ve used on my my ADV (on road) and SUV (in garage) with zero issues. Regardless, these types of units are great and only getting better. 😉
This thing weighs less than my Rocky Creek Motopressor Rocket Pump!
These products are definitely getting better and better, but the one thing missing is a 12V jump starter. There’s a few out there with all three features (USB power out, compressor, jump starter) but they’re still pretty big and heavy.
Personally I’m going to give these products another year to develop, then pull the trigger.
