Benelli Announces BKX 300 Adventure Bike For 2024
The new adventurer has its crosshairs aimed at the entry-level ADV market.
Benelli has expanded their adventure bike lineup with the unveiling of the new BKX 300 at EICMA. The entry-level bike is an evolution of the concept unveiled last year, now boasting a bump in power while keeping its sleek styling.
Benelli says the small adventurer was developed with a younger generation of riders in mind who will appreciate its approachable performance, versatility and modern looks. The beating heart of the BKX 300 is a brand new 292.4 cc, liquid cooled, single-cylinder engine with a 42 mm throttle body, the newest iteration of the current 250 cc featured on the TRK 251 and Leoncino 250.
The engine, in Euro 5+ configuration, delivers a maximum power output of 29.2 hp at 9000 rpm and 18.1 ft-lb at 7000 rpm. The chain-driven timing features a double overhead camshaft with 4 valves and a 6 speed gearbox.
In addition to the increase in displacement, updates have been made to the thermal, ballast and transmission components. Thanks to the increased bore, it was possible to increase the diameter of the intake and exhaust valves and consequently redesign the combustion chamber. The counter balance shaft was also redesigned to reduce vibrations and increase reliability.
The exhaust system is new, with a longer manifold for a more full-bodied torque curve. Also new is the back-torque limiting slipper clutch, which reduces the clutch lever actuation force at the handlebar, as well as making gear shifting smoother.
The engine is housed in a steel double cradle frame while suspension at the front consists of a 41mm upside-down fork with 7.1 inches (180 mm) of travel. Out back there is a pre-load adjustable monoshock with progressive linkage and 7.1 inches (180 mm) of travel. Seat height is kept at an approachable 32.9 in (837 mm).
The whole package rolls on 19”/17” spoked wheels while stopping duties are handled by a single 280 mm disc with a four-piston caliper on the front and a 240 mm disc with a single-piston floating caliper out back. The bike tips the scale at a claimed curb weight of 364 lbs (165 kg).
Rounding out the features found on the new BKX 300 are a simple LCD display that shows essential data and a USB port. The package is completed with an eye-catching headlight with DRL.
Benelli is the second oldest Italian manufacturer still in operation, though the marque has been owned by Chinese Qianjiang (QJ Motor) since 2005. According to Benelli, the BKX 300 was developed at the Benelli Style Center in Pesaro, Italy – the company’s birthplace.
The BKX 300 will be available at dealers worldwide starting from the second half of 2024. Pricing is yet to be released and Benelli has not confirmed if we will get this model in North America. Additionally, the manufacturer says they will be launching a 125 cc and 250 cc version for some markets. Benelli also revealed that they are working on a BKX 300 variant with a more off-road oriented 21” front wheel, but that will come at a later date.

Nice size, but wonder how it will hold up to the Honda 300 ? I think the weight is a tad heavy, especially to say, a Suzuki Dr 200 at 274 lbs. In pictures it doesn’t look like 364 lbs but I am not very good at guessing weights either. Looks like Benelli is pumping out some small bikes lately, and would be interested in a 125 cc, although I doubt that will make it to North America shores ?
The Suzuki DR 200 is a dual sport (not an adventure bike) with a smaller engine and only 5 gears. Of course it is going to be lighter. Apples and oranges.
Can’t they make a 450 thumper version? I like the looks.
Nice bike, but a little underpowered. I’d love to see a 450 rally version with 21/18 wheels.
We have a local Benelli dealership but all they ever have are a couple of Benelli minis. They advertise the whole Benelli lineup but they never have anything else.
